Wayyyyyy back in the 70s, I remember seeing a special about Star Trek (I am pretty sure it was before the Motion Picture), it talked about the series, and showed a basement where someone had built their own transporter room.
What I remember clearly, even though I was quite young, is a brief interview with William Shatner, who was playing tennis. It appeared Shatner refused to talk about Star Trek, and was trying to distance himself from the show as much as possible.
