Old Revell Model Questions (Babylon 5 & Voyager)

Thanks to the joys of ebay, I purchased the B5 model kit from 1998 and the newer 2008ish model of Voyager. (Albeit, yonks ago and am only now getting round to build them when the weather is nice to sit outside).

However, the painting guide is next to useless for B5 (and even Voy!). The B5 instructions suggests the following colours (no numbers/types are given):

Flat black
Arctic Blue Metalic
Dark Earth
Dark Gray
Light Ghost Gray
Intermediate Blue
Neurtal Gray
Flat White

Most of the above colours imply matt finishes (which I'd rather have as I don't want the model to look too shiny).

I'm now a bit confused, as I'm also looking to paint my Revell's Voyager model (which mixes up both satin and matt finishes). The Voyager model refers to numbers like "374" (silky matt) Going here:
http://scalemodeldb.com/paintcharts/revell

374 can be prefixed with a 36374 (satin acrylic) or 32374 (satin enamel). Which Voy paint is the right ones?

Obviously I'd like one set of paints to do both models.

Looking around, acyrlic looks easiest to use as you can mix with water. However - which paints is Revell recommending for Voy? I've combed through the instructions to no avail.

This then leads me back to what colours I should get for my B5 model - should I stick with matt only colours for B5 and get acrylics to suit?

(I have some old Tamiya acrylic paints - can Revell's acrylic paints be mixed?).

Painting is most confusing! Can someone please provide some clarity?

Thanks in advance.

Aha, i've been suffering the same dilemma. I have the reissued Voyager, already built but still naked. I've looked everywhere for a roughly accurate paint, but I just can't find one.

Here's the starship modeller site I found that gives you correct colours in the "floquill military reference guide" or some such,

http://www.starshipmodeler.com/trek/voycolor.htm

And here is a site I found that actually displays the colours listed in the Starship Modeller link.

Honestly, the thought of taking that colour chart and getting the right shade mixed at some paint store has crossed my mind...

These are the exact charts I used for my CG model of Voyager. Just to point out (although you may already know), that these will give you colours close to the original physical model, but not necessarily accurate to how it looked on screen.
They muted the colours a bit on screen to be more neutral, and a bit more blueish overall. Some of the colours seem a bit overly saturated and a tad dark if you follow the reference imo. If you want it to look like it did on screen, I'd probably mix down all of the colours a bit with a very light blue, but I don't build physical models, so take that for what you will

But if you go by that chart, the relative colours do all fit together properly as they should. Meant to be all matte from what I remember, no gloss.

Thanks for the heads up BlobVanDam, thing is I'm very much a novice physical modeller, my Voyager kit is a bit off in places thanks to too little/too much glue :p

I can't find any paint nearby though which is fairly close to the Voyager colour though. That's been my main gripe. If I found something which could just pass for it i'd be happy but Modelzone, Wilkinsons and B&Q have all failed me. The only place I haven't checked is Games Workshop, and, yeah. I don't really wanna venture in there again :p
