Okay.... If Mudd shows up in a future film with the new cast...

Oliver Platt... he's got the girth, he's got the twinkle, he's got the intensity, and the ability to chew up the scenery, he's got the chops!!

The ONLY choice: Oliver Platt

(or the dude that played Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2, whatever, I'm easy)
That would be Alfred Molina.I agree about Oliver platt. He did Porthos-a very energetic, witty character in TTM. But John Rhys-Davies could carry off the role, too. Both are good suggestions, hats to Dusty Ayres.

The actor who played Mudd was actually younger than William Shatner if I remember correctly. The character he played might have been intended to be older than Kirk, I dont know. But they could be the same age.

Edit: Ok it says on IMDb that Roger Carmel (Mudd) was born in Sept 1932 and Shatner in March 1931. So hes about a year and half younger than Shatner. That made Carmel only 34 when "Mudds Women" aired! I'll agree that he certainly looked older than that in the show. Closer to 44 Id say. Although being balding and overweight probably made him look older than he really was. Im still not sure how old the Mudd character was supposed to be though. But it looks like someone Pines age would be fine.

Philip Seymour Hoffman or Paul Giametti would make very interesting space rogues - assuming the writing for them is far more complex than we got for Harry Mudd or Cyrano Jones the first time around.

I'd love love love to see what Ben Browder could do with that sort of character. Who says he needs to be some ugly fat sclub? Why can't space rogues be yknow sexy? :rommie:

Who says Mudd isn't already in his 40's during Kirk/Chris Pine's time, John Rhys-Davies would play a good Mudd too!:klingon:

Mudd was a contemporary of Kirk (slightly younger by a year.) Don't forget, not all 30-something men have slim builds like Kirk, Spock, & McCoy or Scott-some are fatter or huskier, and Roger C. Carmel was like that.
