OK, which race eventually rules the galaxy?

Let's not us humans keep deluding ourselves with all that "we're evolving", "drive to go on", "will to explore" crap. It will not be humans, nor similar puny apelike lifeforms (Vulcans, Klingons, Romulans) no matter how many spaceships they have (someone already had build a Dyson Sphere and abandoned it by Picard's time). We're like amebas. We are tolerated.

Nor the advanced tech guys who always seem to have already fuckedup and/or disappeared eras ago (the Talosians, the android makers, the Yonada builders, the guys who built the machine that needed Spock's brain, the Archons, the guys who put the asteroid repeler in the indian's planet)

No, it has to be someone REALLY powerful like the Metrons, the Organians, the Melkotians, the Excalbians, the guys who built the Shore Leave planet, Trelane's adults, the guys who saved Charlie X.

(I'm not sure about the Borg because Q once seemed afraid of them. But let's keep Q out of this --he seems to be **too** powerful).

I know most of them never leave their planet or alternate dimension, but they could if they wanted, right?

So I'm making a poll, but since I don't have a complete list of superbeings and can't add options once its posted, comments are more welcome than simple votes.

Well, apparently humans eventually turn into big slug things in the Star Trek universe, so probably not us anyway :)

I don't think anyone rules the Galaxy. There are very powerful life-forms, but I think their concerns are more territorial (the rest of the Galaxy can go hang). Some of them don't want trespassers on their turf, while others don't like people making a lot of noise and will only intervene to keep the peace in their neighborhood.

Rule the Galaxy? Pff! That's sooo lesser species...
:shifty:

I chose Other. With apologies to Senator Jay Billington Bulworth:

"All we need is a voluntary, free-spirited, open-ended program of procreative species deconstruction. Everybody just gotta keep screwin' everybody 'til they've all got the same forehead prosthetics."

Given that even *Q* wanted in on this action with Captain Kate (and it wasn't the first time a Q had done that), I think that if you give things another thousand years and everybody will be the same hybrid species. :techman:

The Halkans are just waiting for everyone else to kill each other off.

Then the galaxy is theirs'.

^Sure, like the Klingons, the Borg, the Dominion, Species 8472, the Pah Wraiths, etc. They're all content with staying within their boarders. :shifty:

If those guys haven't taken over by now, they aren't interested. So other.

Being an optimist, the Galaxy will be ruled by the peaceful multi-species Federation and spread to other Galaxies

I'll go with the women behind all those "guys"

Reminds me of the quote from Jurassic Park:
God creates dinosaurs, god kills dinosaurs, god creates man, man kills god, man creates dinosaurs.
Dinosaurs kill man, woman inherits the Earth.

Trelane. He eventually grows up, kills his father, and keeps his mother locked up in her bedroom surrounded by pictures of himself. With so many unresolved mommy issues, and in his attempt to please her, he wrecks havoc on the rest of the galaxy while trying to get someone to play with him.

i don't see why anyone would end up ruling the entire galaxy.

it would either need the Q to use their powers to just make it happen, or a massive sustained military campaign beyond the capability of any of the less q-like forces we've seen.
