In "Return of the Jedi", Luke takes off Vader's mask so his father can see him 'with my own eyes'. But in "The Force Awakens", the complete melted Vader mask is present.
Why would Luke purposely save and burn the mask portions that represented the shirked component of what his transformed father represented? I'm confused!
