Oink Oink - no swine way!!!

I think the thing about Genevieve Bujold was that they were really trying to create a female Picard.
And they couldn't find a bald British woman to play a French woman?

I only recently watched the Voyager season 1 DVDs to know what you're going on about. I know it's hard to tell from the rough footage and the pilot episode, but her Janeway didn't seem to have any personality to her.

And all the authority of a field mouse. She didn't have any presence as Captain at all. Much as Mulgrew's Janeway bugged me at times, it was at least believable that she'd be a Captain of a starship.

Yeah, it's strange watching the exact same scenes from "Caretaker" with a completely different captain.

She was indeed, unfortunately, rather bland. I was actually excited when I heard she had been cast.

So how are you feeling today, DM?

EXTRA STRENGTH OIL OF OREGANO! •••••
.
.
You will be cured within a few hours. It has a dropper so if you buy some cheap tablets that have capsules such as Echinacea capsules from 'Holland & Barrett' then you can open the capsules and drop some oil in them, 3 to 4 drops in one capsule should suffice.

We were discussing this behind the scenes since you posted it and deciding what to do. We could go either way between a spamming warning for posting the exact same thing (an ad, no less) over and over again in every medical topic, or a trolling warning since you know what kind of reaction you've gotten from saying this in the past, yet continue to do so anyway, drawing warnings for others now. It doesn't excuse what Bob the Skutter said, but I can completely understand his frustration after having to deal with you dismissively posting this "advice" in at least two of his medical threads now so far, I believe.

It's one thing to post your questionable science in your own topics, but it's more than a bit tasteless to do it in threads where people are discussing actual medical problems. I have no doubt that Extra Strength Oil of Oregano might be healthy for you in certain circumstances, but it is not some magical cure-all that will solve every problem from swine flu to severe depression to serious heart conditions and to continue to post it as a glib response to every medical condition is well, tacky. It also derails the threads when people start responding to your tangent and you start defending it. The fact that people don't always know when you're being serious or not in defending these often ridiculous suggestions is also not helping things.

Here are just a few examples of where you have posted this same or a similar response. There are more, though.

Re: Diagnosed with severe depression
Re: Anyone else had an ear problem like this?
Re: So now I have high blood pressure
Re: Emergency over the weekend
Re: Pulmonary Check Up
Re: Quick Medical Question

So, because of this, we have decided to give you an infraction for spamming. Please stop posting this response in other people's medical topics. If you would like to start your own topic on the matter in SciTech, that's your business. But do not derail every medical thread here anymore.

Nor do I want this discussion to continue with this ":cardie:" or a continued defense of ESOoO in this thread. If you want to comment on or protest the warning, you can do so by PMing me. Do not do so in the thread.

Well sounds like you've got it way owrse then me so I probably don't have it then

Hope you get better soon DM.
Tell me a joke - need some laughs

Well, not a joke per se, but if you've seen District 9...

That's great! :guffaw: I managed to go see that the other night before I got ill. Brilliant film.

Much better thank you :D

Even back at work. Just very tired.

But okay - thanks guys, you're all so cool!!!

How are you, while we're on the subject, Bob?
Not too bad. Felt a bit off yesterday, don't know whether it's the weather, hayfever or just been overdoing it trying to get back up to speed too quickly. Mostly been ok though.
Did have have some blood cultures done this morning though, so they'll be in touch if anything's not right.
