Official Terminator Season Two Spoiler Thread

Just for fun I decided to start rereading the T2 novel trilogy from a few years ago. I was surprised that there is a character listed as belonging to TechCom who is named Cameron Phillips. Can't believe I didn't remember that.

You'd think that Cameron would have had secondary and tertiary agendas to fulfill if she couldn't find John, like picking off any other Terminators targeting the Lieutenants if they were having an equally difficult time finding John.

Do they even have a plan?

When Skynet assigns its units to missions it normally gives them one primary objective and a few secondary objections - but not always. For example: in the novel Infiltrator the I-950 is on a mission to Terminate John Connor in the future, but her secondary objective are the lieutenants. Until it spots its primary objective it can engage in eliminating the secondary objectives. Skynet can also cancel any missions as needed even if they are in progress. The I-950 was about to terminate John Connor in 2029, but Skynet cancelled the orders and ordered the 950 back to base for a new assignment.

Cameron, however, knew where she could find John. It was explained in Season One.

New information:

Sarah Connor is, like John, going to be given a friend this season that is outside of the Terminator evasion life. Little is known on the character except she is played by Busy Phillips and that the character is the exact opposite of Sarah in every way.

^ That was funny.

At least we know what happened to Cameron now. I don't know why it would have happened - we've seen Terminators in explosions like that before and they didn't have damage like that.

Her diagnostic screen says 'Chip Integrity Compromised'

Perhaps it was the intensity of the explosion, but if Cameron were in an explosion like the first terminator with the semi her skin would have been completely melted.

Apparently Shirley manson isn't a "former frontman" for garbage.

She still is the lead and they put the new album on hold so she can do this

^ Possible, though there are alternative reasons for why Cameron may not have lost her skin. We've seen she has enhanced generative capabilities in the past - more so than those seen in the films at least save the Liquid Metal Terminators.

I think that they may introduce that Cameron has nanites that are designed to help with repairs to her systems. They aren't a new concept in terminator - actually they've been around since the time of the very first comics - but it would explain a few things.

Actually, the recent promos show Sarah protecting a young boy (8-10 years old) from what looks like another T-888. I suspect the kid is supposed to grow up to be one of John's lieutenants.

John wouldn't need Lieutenants if Sarah had a better plan.

speaking of plans as I was watching T2 last night I was saying to myself that the plan to go Cyberdyne was stupid.

The Terminator, Sarah, John and Dyson walked into the front door then tied up one guard and another guard notices he's missing and presses the alarm.

It should have been a covert operation. I guess we needed all the explosions and Arnold with a mini gun:p

^ They really didn't have time for stealth though, that was the problem. There were several things going against them.

  1. They didn't have a lot of time to plan an attack.
  2. They didn't have extensive information on the security capabilities of Cyberdyne.
  3. The T-1000 was coming for them and was on its way to Dyson's home.
  4. The police were already actively looking for them.
  5. The T-1000 had access to better resources due to its impersonation of a police officer.

If the T-1000 wasn't on their ass, then they'd have had time to be pretty, but Sarah doesn't do Pretty, because if she don't go straight for the jugular and accomplish her mission, they they'll string her up in a looney bin for another three years.

Miles should have known there were two guards. That was the only fault in the plan. Elitist bugger doesn't talk to the help.

^ There were more than likely more guards than just the two seen at the beginning of the Cyberdyne Raid (Gibbons and Moshier). It's doubtful too that he'd know who the guards were during the night shift because he probably wouldn't be there at night or have ever met them (though he did know Gibbons' first name of Carl).

Here rashness to blow up a computer company and getting shot led here into the looney bin in the first place too(according to John telling the story to the terminator)

And it was a good plan the first time. She just needed a bigger bomb and an unstoppable killing machine to help her.
