Official New Star Trek 2012 Game for the PC, PS3 & X360

Pre-order Bonuses Detailed:

NAMCO Bandai Games revealed the release date for STAR TREK: The Video Game. The game will release in North America on April 23, 2013 and Europe and Austrailia on April 26, 2013. The company also confirmed the pre-order bonuses that will be starting soon with participating retailers. The game is scheduled to be released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

All pre-orders for the game will include access to the “Elite Officer Pack,” which features exclusive items and unique uniforms for legendary characters Kirk and Spock, who play front and center in a completely new story created especially for STAR TREK: The Video Game which was written by BAFTA award winner Marianne Krawczyk.

The exclusive “Elite Officer Pack” will include:

  • Stealth Pack – Kirk and Spock stealth uniforms, plus Starfleet Type IV Stealth Sniper Rifle and extra ammo
  • Brawler Pack – Kirk leather jacket costume and Spock Vulcan Science Academy costume
  • Kelvin Pack – Kirk and Spock U.S.S. Kelvin uniforms, plus U.S.S. Kelvin Hand Phaser
  • Academy Pack – Kirk Academy Uniform, Spock Officer Dress Uniform, plus Academy Phaser
  • Kobayashi Maru Pack – Kirk and Spock Kobayashi Maru uniforms
Here's the weird thing - I see no sign of any preorders existing for PC players. Are they gonna get screwed?

PC Gamer almost always get screwed for multi-platform releases, either by late release dates, shoddy ports or both.

I'll be buying for the PS3 on release day. The only way I'd buy the PC version is if there's a strong Mod community that crops up around the game.

I can't argue with the shoddy ports thing, but these days PC games come out simultaneously with their console counterparts so the publisher doesn't need to run ads for that version of the game. And since this game is part of a major publicity build up to STID, I'd think that Paramount would push Namco Bandai to get the PC version out the door with the others.

Not being very good with game controllers, I'll have to wait for the PC version. Am gutted it'll be "download only" as if you're going to pay £25+ for a game, the very least I'd like is a box to put in my book case to add to the collection! :(

This is gettign VERY close to being almost too exciting for me now, with game and new movie out almost simultaneously! :)

Oh well, found it on Amazon for less than the PS3 price, and they'll match prices if they decrease it closer to release date. I always wait for ages before buying a new game toget it cheaper, but with this being the first decent looking Trek game in over a decade - worth splashing out! :)

Lucky. Amazon US has nothing for the PC version.

I wish we could have a mass effect or deus ex style RPG/shooter/adventure in the star trek universe.

Thats the first, its normally us here in UK land which have to wait for ages for anything (and then they have the cheek to compalin about piracy, lol).

Um. That is what THIS game is!
This is a shooter. I don't think there's going to be any RPG/adventure elements, though. At least, that's not my understanding from what we've seen so far...
The combat is a shooter, but apparently there's some exploration of the Enterprise and possibly puzzle elements too.

Anybody heard word on pc pre-order links? Or sdk?
I want to know that. No links for PC preorders or hardware specs.
I doubt we'll get an SDK - most games these days aren't intentionally designed with modding in mind and a co-op heavy game like this might be a bit too demanding for modders.

That said, it's weird that the UK has PC preorder links and the US doesn't. You guys might want to skim UK game store sites to see if they have hardware specs.
