Official Left 4 Dead 2 Thread

The full game is wicked cool, with lots of options in the game play that improve upon the original version. Better weapons, different strategies and VS is fun again.

Have they introduced a practice mode for Vs? I was always terrible at playing as infected and when you get kicked for making a mistake it's very hard to learn what you're supposed do.

Nah. You have to get a few friends together to practice. We ran 2v2 private to get used to the new Infected.

I am really torn on if to get this, MW2, or AC2 as my holiday game. I had a ton of fun with the first one.

I would say AC 2 just for sheer content though L4D & MW 2 probably easier to pick up and play on a whim.

Scavenger mode makes a good alternative to Vs. Its still SI vs Survivors, but teams are limited to one small area and have to compete to pick up the most gas cans. So its a lot easier to deal with for newcomers. I've noticed on the streaming game channels it gets played a lot more than Vs.

It's also over in less than 1/2 hour-as opposed to 1.5-2 hours for VS. Thank God.

I just saw that is $44 for the 360 on Amazon right now... I might have to do some creative accounting to see if I can pick up this game before I get paid next week (or I could just hope that it stays at that price for another week).

I've never played any of them and don't follow the series, but I just noticed that this game has been edited/censored for sale here in Australia ( story ).

We really need an R rating for games here so this kind of shit doesn't go on..

Same thing in Germany (although they at least get more weapons as a consolation). Pure nonsense really. I feel bad for down under gamers.

Now I see that it's going to be $35 for the Black Friday sale at Best Buy. I think that I will be picking this one up.... now if I could only get internet installed at my place.

Just had a look at it on Amazon, love how they've changed the cover. ;)

Most yanks probably don't realise it, but sticking up two fingers like that it a very rude gesture over here (specifically designed to insult the French no less.) Not the sort of thing I imagine many shops want lining their shelves generating complaints.

I plan to pick up a copy at either Best Buy or Gamestop tomorrow. They are going to have it cheaper than 60 bucks. I am also going to nab Borderlands since it's price will be low too.

I started playing, but the game caused my videocard drivers to crash after less then 10 minutes, which is weird since I didn't have any problems with the demo. I don't mind, I'm still mainly playing Dragon Age and don't really have a lot of time for another PC game. I'll wait for a patch/newer drivers.

I assume you've done all the usual? Drivers up to date, checked your cooling, reinstalled?

Actually I played again last night and the same thing happened at about the same time, a VPU recover. I had no problems Alt tabbing back into the game and played for another 40 minutes or so with no issues. I didn't even try getting back into the game the first time it happened.

I picked this up yesterday because of the holiday sales for $40 for the 360, so if anyone wants team with a competent team member, add me on Live (XA_kid). However, I will not be on for a week at the earliest since getting my internet set up in my new place is becoming a pain.

I played through the first two campaigns with the CPU: a lot of fun (at least as much that can be with CPU players) but so far I have preferred the Mall Campaign to the Carnival Campaign (which had a much weaker finale IMO).

Okay, guess I better change my story. I can play the game just fine. Its the crescendos and finales that kick my ass. :(

Just played Carnival-freakin' 3 tanks chased me at the end. My team had to use the paddles on me. Lots o' fun!
