Off To See "Sex & The City 2"!

I have my own idea for a TV show/movies series kinda like Sex And The City...

I call it "Better Than Sex"

4 40 something women, better looking than the Sex And The City gals, way funnier and actually juggling real life with wanting to have fun. :)

I don't have it all worked out...but in my head it's a winner. :D

Turns out that despite predictions, Shrek is pounding it pretty fiercely at the BO.

God help me, its like a knife fight between Amy Winehouse and Lindsay Lohan. I have no idea who to root for.

Amy Winehouse. Some of her songs are bona fide masterpieces. Lindsay Lohan has been worthless since she stopped being pedophile bait.

Yeah, i don't want to be too judgmental but with how 'sexy' the women in the movie are it'd be sexier to call it Algebra in the City.

Well I was going to go with Paris Hilton. But that seemed a little too easy. :)

Amy - Some good songs. But otherwise pretty much a trainwreck.

I liked the series and had many good laughs with it.

Liked the 1st movie too and many of the themes but somewhere it is time to end the thing on a high note.. it seems SatC 2 went beyond the high note for profits sake (when was the last time you saw any of the principal actors in anything else that was worthwile?) and i'll probably catch it sometime down the line when i've got nothing better to do.

I saw it yesterday, and I enjoyed it. No, it's not a great film --hell, I would be hard-pressed to even call it a "good" film-- but it kept me entertained for 2+ hours. It's certainly nowhere near as bad as some of the reviews are making it out to be.

Of course, I was a fan of the series, so in a way, seeing these characters on screen again is kind of like spending time with some old friends. If you have no attachment to the series, then this movie probably won't do anything for you.

I thought the first film was far superior -- it just had a stronger plot overall. The story in this one was somewhat slight. I think the same criticism often leveled at many of the Trek movies could apply here: it didn't really justify its existence as a feature film. Rather, it just felt like an extended episode of the TV show (not that that's necessarily a bad thing). The first movie provided some nice resolution, and would've been a solid way to end the series. The sequel, I'll admit, does feel as though it was made solely because of the strong box office returns of its predecessor.

Eh, but like I said, flaws aside, I found it to be a reasonably enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours.

I enjoyed Sex and the City 2, and I think most critics just couldn't resist easy criticisms ("they're materialistic," "they're racist," "they're self-entitled," blah, blah, blah).

Why should they resist them ? When someone reviews Battlefield: Earth they shouldn't resist criticising the many gaping plot holes, so why should someone reviewing this resist criticising this film's horrible, unlikeable characters and racist undertones ?

I'm sorry but unless explicitly stated there are to be no positive comments about this film. Thank you.
