Off to cross the country in a rocket again..

Next month I'm once again going across the country in this. Only problems last year was a broken throttle cable, charging issues, and fuel line. I've been thinking of putting a TOS theme interior (switches and lighting) in this and havent really gotten around to it yet.

Uh, why is there a leg sticking out of the "cockpit" in this shot?

HEY! A man's gotta sleep somewhere! Actually thats when the thottle cable broke. Not much room to move around in the cockpit.

It's technically a Honda Goldwing 1200cc engine with an aircraft body on top. It gets about 60 miles per gallon becasue it has 10 times less drag than a standard motorcycle.
It seats 2 people tandem. Drives like a car, shifts like a motorcycle, and drives on only 3 wheels at a time balancing on each of the wings at any given time.

It cost around 20K in 1989 when it was purchased.

There were only 360 made before the company went out of business. Its too bad, its a head turner and has a decent amount of cargo room to be a realistic functional daily driver. Especially these days when fuel is so expensive.

Last year fuel was nearly 5 bucks a gallon. It still only cost $300 to go coast to coast. Try that in a station wagon.

Man, that's just too awesome. I'm pretty sure my dad and uncle would be interested in such a project if they didn't have so many other projects already.

Sweet! I'd love to have a vehicle like that. Unfortunately, I'd need a new (or nearly new) one since I'm absolutely lousy at car repairs/upkeep. :alienblush:
