Odo having a child?

I was watching 'nor the battle to the strong' yesterday and it occured to me that whilst Odo was a solid did he have sperm? and could he have impregnated a solid?
I think this could have been an interesting twist, even in his new solid form the Founders still respected him as one of their own and should Odo have had a child (a solid one) would the Founders consider this child to be one of their own people?
This could have been the factor that ended the war with the Dominion, imagine at the end of the war the Changeling solid got introduced to the founders and Odo linked with them and they felt Odo's emotions for his son/daughter.

I think it would have been an interesting twist and a much more intrigueing effective ending of the war. A bit like how Q ended the war between the Q and the Grey by having a child. The Changelings feelings towards solids and self arrogance could have been swept aside by the existence of this Changeling Solid.
They could have had the Odo/Kira relationship early and had Kira carrying Odo's baby instead.

Anyone else think this would have been good? Any thoughts/comments?

It might have been interesting, but I think it would have been too much like a soap opera. One of the major reasons they decided to explain Nana Visitor's pregnancy as Kira having Keiko's baby is that they wanted to avoid going in obvious directions (such as having Shakaar impregnate Kira).

I'm glad that they waited a while for the Kira/Odo pairing. I think it paid off well in the end despite the fact that it would never have worked if Odo stayed with Kira at the end of the series in my opinion. Perhaps Odo's feelings and loyalty to Kira would somehow teach the Link something about trusting solids.

I guess technically Odo probably could have impregnated someone as a solid if only "A Simple Investigation" had taken place during this time period. I might even admit that someone could do a possible fanfiction or relaunch story about it. Alas, before this somewhat forgetable episode, Odo didn't let down his guard enough to even allow for the possiblity of romance in his life. By the time "His Way" aired, however, Odo had grown somewhat and Kira's relationship with Shakaar went nowhere so it only made sense to finally pay off all the tension that had been building for years.

I don't know if the solids would have accepted a hybrid child, but it just would have added a sappy element to the war story, which I don't think would have benefited from it. There was just too much other stuff going on to make room for "Odo becomes a daddy" episodes

:scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: :scream: I would not want them to have a kid together... if that is even possible. Dax as a Trill and Worf as a Klingon had a hard time- I imagine a Bajoran and a Changling would too.

Bashir made it quite clear that Odo was practically a human, I think the chances of pregnancy with a Bajoran would be high. The difference between a Trill and a Klingon is that a Klingon has two of every organ, Trills don't, that's probably why Trills have trouble conceiving with a Klingon.

If the EMH can have a child despite being nothing but a hologram (which it did), then Odo can have a child too. Either when he was a changeling, or when he was a solid.

Nothing was said about HOW the Doctor had a child. It likely would have been thru donated DNA or adoption.

Odo was essentially human, with only his face still as it was. Inside, he was down the bone marrow, blood cells and genetic material, a solid. He could have produced an offspring as easilly as any other solid.

My only question is just what the child would have been.

The ill infant Changeling was able to restore Odo to his true nature just by merging with him.

What would have happened if a solid offspring of Odo eventually came into physical contact with a Changeling who was "linking"?
