Hello, Welcome! We recently completed the Enterprise Incident thread in the TOS forum! For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts. Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes (like the Dominion Occupation Arc on DS9 or the Xindi Arc on ENT), each episode is a separate thread. Get ready for a story, here we go!
Yay! A new episode! (Reed turns the board around so they can set up a fresh game.) REED: You're really starting to get a feel for the game. For those who want/need the transcript: http://www.chakoteya.net/Enterprise/87.htm
TRAVIS: Thirty-two pieces, sixty-four squares; it's not as if it's difficult. The total number of possible outcomes is limited.
TRAVIS: That's what I mean. Chess is so predictable, I'm surprised anyone bothers to play it. (The new game starts quickly, with Travis playing white.) (A/N: Just got the whole series on Blu Ray on amazon, and just watched this episode.)
REED: Their average life span's only about a hundred years. With no time to play all the possible games.
REED: Careful. No emotional involvement. @sekundant: My top 3 ENT eps are Observer Effect, E2, Similitude. E2 and Sim inspired a whole lotta fanfiction (and SNW10 ) but OE wins by a hair because it made me
MAYWEATHER: How do you think they'll react to what's on this planet? (Anyone else find it strange that the transcript site lists everyone by last name EXCEPT for Mayweather and Sato? It's Tucker, Archer, Reed, Travis, Hoshi for some reason)
REED: Well, that's what we're here to find out, but in my experience, all physical species are alike. I don't expect humans will be any different. (Hmm...I didn't notice it until you mentioned it, but you're right - it IS strange.)
MALCOLM: It's possible. For some of the species that have come here, I've seen the whole crew die. For others, only a few.
