Obligatory Shore Leave Thread

Shore Leave Report??

Don't know if a thread is somewhere else, but does anyone have any details/comments and pics from the Shore Leave in Maryland???

Personally, I had a blast at the con and can't believe it came and went so quickly. It was terrific catching up with old pals and getting to know others for the first time. Saw Terpette all too briefly but T'Bonz and Lorraine were stalking me. Pics are all over Facebook so far.

Had a great time. I got almost 30 books signed...3 were TPBs that I was able to get signed by all the contributors present.

Picked up The Calling and Counterstrike (TLWW book 2) each from their authors. Look forward to reading!

Recovering from Shore Leave this morning, after a great weekend hanging out with friends and fans. Looking forward to next year!

Fun weekend! Got to catch up with most folks I wanted to see and even had a surprise T'Bonz sighting on Sunday when she stopped by the STARFLEET recruiting table.

I took some photos and once I put them up on my Flickr stream I'll post a link somewhere. Didn't live-tweet as much as I'd have liked. Even though Verizon has great network coverage, no one can seem to get any reception in the downstairs hallways at the Marriott. Place is built like a damn bunker.

What's the next big con everyone goes to? I can't afford ComicCon and I don't do Dragoncon...

Bob Greenberger:

So THAT explains the mystery restraining order.

Lorraine:

I haven't even started to recover from Shore Leave, BTW. Had such a great time that I'm already thinking about next year!
My husband and I were in the baggage claim and he says, "Well when are you planning our NYC trip?"

I kinda growled at him. I'm a bit traveled out at the moment.

I actually got a signal downstairs once. I never got one anywhere else in the lobby, including my room. Had to go out front to check for messages and to talk with my husband.

It was a fun Shore Leave. I had a great time and once again, thanks to the wonderful authors who graciously allow me to hang with them every now and then.

*note to self* Find new stalking victim for next year. */note to self*

Odd, since I got better wi-fi reception down in Salon C (where I briefly left my laptop lying unattended, after having temporarily lost my Greyhound ticket somewhere in the hotel -- this was not my weekend) than I did in my hotel room. But I guess that was the hotel's own wireless router service, not a cellular phone service. I'm not the type who uses my cell phone constantly, so I can't say what the reception was like for it.

I feel your pain. On the trip, I lost things on two separate days. One thing I got back, the other is gone forever. This from someone who never loses things. :(
