Rules of the Forum
As with any new Trek show, Lower Decks has a polarizing effect on fans: Some will love it to pieces, some will hate it with a passion, others will fall anywhere in-between. Opinions are going to be strong and varied and we want everyone to be able to express them. Negative opinions are not against the rules. Nor are positive ones. If you don't agree with an opinion, you can challenge it, but do so on the content of the post, not by attacking the poster.
Spoilers
Generally, if you want to be completely unspoiled, be wary of entering the Lower Decks forum. We're going to try to protect major plot developments and the like, but if you want to remain completely unspoiled by basic details like character names and other minutiae, watch the show before joining the forum!
As of this writing there are no plans for international distribution in place, so for the time being, in order to facilitate a sensible foundation for discussion, we’re running this with US distribution and viewership in mind. If you post specific spoilers from episodes in the Lower Decks forum, please use spoiler tags and warnings at least two weeks from the date of release in the US to give people a chance to catch up. After two weeks have passed, plot details can be discussed freely in any thread in the forum. For the rest of the board, however, the six months spoiler policy is still in place.
Moderators may add spoiler tags to any post. If you are continuously posting obvious spoilers without consideration, we may take further action. When in doubt, always fall on the side of common sense and courtesy.
Discussion/Advocacy of Piracy
The promotion of piracy, including talking about engaging in it, is against the board rules. It puts the Trek BBS in real danger and we can not allow it to happen. We will take action against any discussion or promotion of piracy and sharing links to unauthorized sources.
