News Obi-Wan Kenobi series premiering on May 27

It helps that Kidman has aged very gracefully so she doesn't even need that much work anyways.

I think you're much more likely to get Satine flashbacks from a Bo Katan show than the Kenobi one.

I've not seen her in anything so I can't comment intelligently on her suitability for the role beyond looks, but looking her up, I think I could see her pulling off a younger Satine AND buy her as Katie Sackoff's sister.

That said: while she'd be good for a TCW era flashback, I just don't see them going there. Both because TCW already covered that ground, and because all of the interesting parts of her backstory that would be the most relevant to either a Kenobi or a Bo Katan centric story is Satine (and Bo Katan) during the Mandalorian Civil War (the one that Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan were involved in, not to be confused with the 5 million other Mandalorian Civil Wars.) That means casting a pair of actresses in their late teens or early twenties at the oldest. (Bonus points if Daniel Logan playing a young Jango Fett gets a cameo there too.)
 
That's more of what I was thinking of, mainly just because I would love to get the full story on her pre-Clone Wars relationship with Obi-Wan.
 
If the story doesn't get told on screen, I'd love to see it told in a YA novel by Claudia Gray covering Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon's involvement in the Mandalorian Civil War, how Obi-Wan and Satine met, and their relationship during the conflict.
 
I'm kind of shocked we haven't already gotten that book, so I'm holding out hope that maybe we didn't get the book because they were saving it for flashbacks in this.
 
Small aside, but so long as we're talking live action flashbacks to animated material; I wonder if the Ahsoka show will depict Ahsoka's backstory involving the false Jedi Latrans and Plo Koon. I mean it's the perfect excuse to work Master Plo back in there . . .

I suspect the reason why we haven't gotten any elaboration on that is the same reason we haven't seen or heard anything about Barris post TCW, and why Ahsoka doesn't show up in anything (storywise) without at least Filloni's approval if not involvement: the characters have been deliberately ringfenced in the event that Dave will at some point get around to telling that story (see also: Malachor.)

When and/or if he ever get around to any of it of course, remains to be seen.

I too am hoping it's an intentional embargo for that very reason.

Wookiepedia puts the Mandalorian Civil War a decade before The Phantom Menace, which would make Obi-Wan roughly 15 years old at the time. Would make for a sweet teenage love story.
