News Obi-Wan Kenobi series premiering on May 27

In a manner of speaking, since Ben's Theme ended up being used generally and pervasively as the Force Theme, Kenobi doesn't have a personal theme, even if one was written for him (and even in the extracts you quote, Williams acknowledges that it was more of a general Jedi theme even at the very beginning). The same thing happened to Luke, who really doesn't have a personal theme anymore, since it had been the main Star Wars theme, but that music has been used for decades in Star Wars stuff where Luke isn't involved.
The operative word was "hadn't." There's no manner of speaking involved.

That said, I agree that in terms of how the franchise has evolved since the original film, both Luke's and Ben's themes are no longer personal or specific.

The Maul thing never made sense to me anyway. Back when Kenobi was still being developed as a movie, Rebels would have been well into production on it's third season, and if there was an upcoming movie even considering using Maul, no way would they have used him, let alone finally finishing off his story *with Kenobi*!
The logic is weak with this one.

Hell, I remember back when Rebels first set up the storyline of a showdown between Maul and Obi-Wan, a lot of folks online thought for some reason that was setting up for a movie or something, despite the fact that at the time, such a movie wouldn't have happened any earlier than four years later. The mental gymnastics one would have to go through for that to make sense...

Yeah, I saw that in the EW article. Although they didn't become a couple until after Fargo, since they were both married to other people when they were working on it.

I wish they didn’t use the Inquisitors. They’re a joke. Rather they had something different.

Well, we know they're nowhere to be seen in the OT--the future of this series--so its easy to write them off because you know they did not survive (IOW, were they effective at their job at all?).

Why are they "a joke?"
I haven't read any comics or books with them in, but liked what I've seen of them in Rebels and Fallen Order. It's an interesting part of the canon I'd like to see developed more. And personally I'd love to see SMG play the Seventh Sister in live action, but that's wishful thinking on my part.

Also the Second Sister from Fallen Order is frickin hot

"Rebels" was tamer and more kid-friendly than "Clone Wars." So the depiction of the Inquisitors fit that. Villains do tend to be a little more bumbling and ineffectual in those kinds of shows, diminishing the sense of peril and menace that could be too intense for younger audiences. Hopefully the live-action depiction will express their full potential.

I kind of hope Bo-Katan Kryze shows up. I think this is still several years before the Great Purge / Night of a Thousand tears, so maybe at this point it looks like things are going okay for Mandalore, that they are breaking free from Imperial influence and whatnot? But it would probably be a stretch to tie this to Obi-Wan's story that is being told in this show.

Some flashback scenes with Satine Kryze would be interesting. Maybe Obi-Wan reminiscing about losses and regrets, or something.

The whole part of Obi-Wan discussing the story of Vader in ANH is all about him helping the Empire hunt down the Jedi. Was he doing it all by himself? Vader and the Emperor have zero compunction disposing of a tool once it has outlived its usefulness, i.e. the Jedi are all gone.

As someone who like this era of Star Wars I would love to see it explored more too.

Does Obi-Wan take place before or after Rebels? Just curious if this series could in any way lead to the end of the Inquisitors. Personally, I've never been much of a fan of them, or all the sporadic Jedi that have been introduced in the post ROTS/pre ANH era. Always felt like it was just an excuse to have people with lightsabers and force powers running around besides Luke, Obi, and Vader.
