Hi everyone. was feeling particularly inspired to do more ship designs after watching Picard s3. Which was such a gift. I loved it.

Anyhow speaking on Legacy, what a great time to update the Oberth!!

Looks like an Oberth in the style of John Eaves. I am not the biggest fan of the Eavesian aesthetic, but this is good. The Oberth, like the Daedalus Class, is in need of a makeover so I appreciate efforts to do that.

@Mr Marley Mac, fantastic design! Looks like a proper Starfleet-style yacht or luxury ship. I love the nod to the Oberth's configuration, but I guess this would also look pretty cool without the secondary hull attached to it. I also like to point out how much I enjoy your rendering style.

Definitely feels more like a Flag Officer or Captain's Yacht than something you would mass produce for Scientific Study or Utility purporses.

hah, thanks very much. I think the dark paintwork on the primary hull adds a good deal of weight to the design.

Yes, I definitely study his use of light. The fact his work is all hand drawn is mind boggling (unless in a collaborative effort and over-paints 3d meshes), considering the complexity of structure to proportions and all of this, I find his work most pleasing, morso than the simple 3d renders. Id like to add, my 3d modelling upsets me more often than not, but doing post work in Photoshop really brightens my day hah. I wish I was good at 3d.

Oh, yes. never thought of a private yacht, but can definitely see that. Yes, Ive definitely switched the secondary hull on and off in Blender and gone, 'maybe I'll just leave that'. But the goal was always to uplift the Oberth. Thanks so much for the wonderful compliment.

You'll only get better with more practice.

Nobody is good at anything when they first start.

It always takes time to grind & practice.
