O.T. Crazy 8 Press

Bob Greenberger

Hi All,

Since all six of the partners in Crazy 8 Press -- me, Peter David, Mike Friedman, Aaron Rosenberg, Howie Weinstein, and Glenn Hauman -- are Trek writers, I wanted to take a moment and make sure you're all aware of this new endeavor.

Born out of a conversation near the Men's Room at last year's Shore Leave, it has developed in fits and starts ever since.

Our website went live yesterday and you can access the first chapter of the consortium's first original offering: Peter David's The Camelot Papers. We have a Facebook page and you can go there, LIKE us, and receive the second chapter later this week.

The full novel will be available for sale in all eBook formats, priced at $4.99, and POD on July 8. We kick off the event at Shore Leave during the Meet the Pros party and there will be a Saturday panel where we chat about our plans.

We look forward to your feedback.

Bob

Thanks for sharing this, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on what you guys are up to.

Cool. I just bought the ebook for my Kindle without even downloading the sample first to try it out, 'cuz I know it will be good. And, well, I love King Arthur and Camelot stuff.

See y'all tonight at Shore Leave!
Karen

Thanks, Terpette. Looking forward to seeing you, too. As for the rest of you, clearly, The Camelot Papers is now available as a nook or Kindle download so if you like Peter's stuff, I strongly recommend you try it out.

Picked it up last night, £3.something from Amazon UK, seemed strangely appropriate given everything going on over here.

Very much feel like I'm living in the future: new full-length novel from one of my favourite authors, delivered right to my Kindle on release date for a great price. More of this sort of thing!

From their FAQ

Q: Why call yourselves Crazy 8 if there are only six of you?
A: Choose whichever answer you like best:

  • We started with eight authors, but two spontaneously combusted.
  • Glenn’s big enough for three.
  • Aaron’s multiple personalities wanted to be counted, or else they’d start playing with knives.
  • If we went with Secret Six, DC would want royalties.
  • We wanted to name ourselves after a card game, and Bridge Publications was taken.

More seriously:

From Bob Greenberger blog:

By the October New York Comic-Con, we had settled on Crazy 8 because at the time, there were eight of us committed. We met again at the con and recognized there was a lot to hash out including some fundamental philosophical differences that led two of the group to bow out. We kept the name because we’re just that crazy.
