Tegan is one of my favoruite companions. I really engaged with her when I was younger. I think it's because she was a liberated career woman, opinionated and still stylish all at once. Also, at the time (and still now, secretly) I loved her cabin crew uniform. Also, I think she and the Doctor looked good together... if you get my drift.

For me, Nyssa was beautiful but Tegan, while not exactly beautiful, was very very sexy. Perhaps a strange distinction but it's the best I can do just waking up from a nap I wasn't supposed to even have.

Or Peri Brown, as played by Nicole Bryant? I agree that she was seriously gorgeous, but for now I'm just looking at Nyssa and Tegan. Though I'll probably start a thread about Peri/Nicola soon...

I find it hard choosing between the two of them. They were both gorgeous in their own way. Nyssa had a kind of delicate, elfin beauty to her that's so adorable, and after watching her in Arc of Infinity I found her to be quite sexy when she's upset or angry . But then there's Tegan's white dress in the aforementioned story, and her black leather miniskirt in Resurrection of the Daleks .

Nyssa, easily - my big teenage crush. If I'd actually met the characters... interesting one. If I go for any one type of woman, it's 'intelligent, and awkward', so that's one point each for Nyssa and Tegan respectively...
I did get to interview Sarah Sutton years later, and found she hd a really sparky sense of humour once she'd relaxed. If she'd been allowed to put more of that side of herself into the onscreen character, she could have given Sarah a run for the top companion slot.
