NX-TECH BRIEFS!

Re: Drex Files is asking you! Ship Survey!

  1. The orthos for the Enterprise-J.
  2. Orthos for the Earth Starfleet ship “Sarajevo” (although John Eaves might also have those too)
  3. Any photos you may have of Ed Miarecki’s Wolf 359 kitbashes, or Greg Jein’s wrecked models, for “Best of Both Worlds.”
  4. The “U.S.S. Curry” kitbash Dan Curry built for DS9’s “A Time to Stand.”
  5. Any more pics of the “Raging Queen”
    icon_smile.gif
  6. Any orthos of ENTERPRISE-era Klingon ships (D5, Bird-of-Prey, the little ship the Augments stole, “Goroth’s” ship, etc.)
  7. Any other ships that were built from plastic model kits, whether kitbashed or regular, that might have been used in the far background, or which were labeled with names and/or registry numbers (we all have to keep our shiplists up-to-date, you know…
Quoted for absolute truth! :techman:

Hey, that's my list! :) (I'm Mark Delgado).

Re: Drex Files is asking you! Ship Survey!

JNG already struck in that comment listing :D

Can't wait to see what turns up. As Doug's time allows, of course.

I never tire of learning something new about a TV show that aired years ago. I don't know why, but it's like the more gaps are filled in, the more I enjoy not just that element that I learn about, but the whole of Trek.

Re: Drex Files, more art from the EXPANCE

^^^ Oh bollux! Each post has its own specific topic and they also happen to be flat-out cool as shit! I say keep them coming. If we had them all in one big thread all the conversations would get jumbled up. If the mods think it's a problem I'm sure they'll say so.
Thank you!:D

Re: NX-O2 Construction Pictorial!!!

I always though it'd be cool if the NX-01's hull changed color slightly, to a more silver/chrome kinda look, when the plating was polarized.

Re: NX-O2 Construction Pictorial!!!

Interesting. I'm surprised to see that the markings are painted onto the panels before being assembled to the hull. I wonder if they are painted in some pressurized room someplace. Maybe the paint needs air to react with to dry?

Re: NX-TECH BRIEFS! BRIDGE MODULE!

Anyone have pics of the COLUMBIA's slightly different bridge? Floor plans, et al?

Re: Concept Art of the starships from EXPANCE!

Actually I like the left-hand image as I always thought the catamaran design for the NX-Class "Enterprise" was a bit wrong, a bit too flimsy, and that there needed to be a more direct connection to the saucer somehow to link it to the Loknar-Class, Norway-Class, and Akira-Class design 'splinter' lineages.

Re: AWSOME! John Eaves ENT Concept art!

AWESOME! Guy spamming forum with reposts!
[/sarcasm]
You really should consider collecting this stuff in a dedicated thread. It´s damn annoying to come in here just to find that the section has been flooded with reposts tons of threads containing stuff from John Eaves and Doug Drexler´s blogs.

Re: Concept Art of the starships from EXPANCE!

Yes, I doubt a box is especially warp-dynamic. Whatever the Borg are doing to get around this must be a bit beyond us.

Re: NX-TECH BRIEFS! BRIDGE MODULE!

Are there any differences beyond the lighted tubes?

Well, not *all* the markings. In the drydock scene, it obviously has the "NX-01" applied, but not "Columbia".

Chalk up another person that prefers this coloring and deflector dish design. I always thought Enterprise's dish looked squished.

Re: NX-TECH BRIEFS! BRIDGE MODULE!

As "detailed" as the NX-01 bridge might be, I could never respect it, because absolutely no thought went into its design. It is a blatant redress of the Defiant's bridge. The floorplan, station locations, and aft area are all identical. It is in no way an original design, and the fact that it is so obvious makes it lose credibility.

I look at it the other way around....when the Defiant was designed, they used the NX-01 bridge as inspiration for a compact, multi-purpose design.

However, I did wonder why NX-01 had a combo helm/nav setup while NCC-1701 went to two separate stations....and that design stayed until the Defiant and Voyager went back to the helm/nav combo.....any thoughts?.....
