Unauthorized copying had become a terrible problem
with no solution in sight. Therefore, only
the most severe and draconian punishments were
a viable option. Tal Shiar's infringement division
had tortured and executed hundreds of suspects
in just one day. Now imagine what
they could be capable of if they
could recruit another thousand, or so, agents!
The carnage would be immense and last
for such an incredibly long time that
nobody would be able to make a
copy of anything ever again!
Spock interjected. "If one uses a duotronic
quantum replication device, it is entirely conciavable
that an infinite number of copies could
be produced in a very short space
of time. I can reasonably estimate that
under the most conservative circumstances we could
produce enough copies that Starfleet Command would
soon have more than enough to last
