Marina Sirtis (TNG - Troi) and Jonathan Frakes (TNG - Riker) on not being in the movie and Sirtis says the TNG cast is "done" but they speculate on who should play the young versions of their characters (picking Zac Efron for Riker and Vanessa Hudgens for Troi).

I hadn't even thought of this...

I think Zac Efron would make a wonderful Counselor Troi

Hudgens is too pretty to be a convincing Frakes though....

2265–2269

TNG 24th century
2300-2399

Who is to say that this rebooted alternate universe nuTrek will get to 2300 in the feature films?
Wildly speculating now...If STXII and STXIII used the same actors for the next two films and then a couple series were created in the next 15 years in the 23rd century TPTB may still not even get to the 24th century.
Not turning this into a Future of Trek thread I'm just saying that NuTNG timeline may be a long ways off from nucanon.

BTW: I should clarify, I was only commenting on the idea of nuTNG, not the choices by Sirtis and Frakes.

Most likely, by the time the story itself makes it into the 24th century timeframe, we may very well have actual androids capabable of playing Data....

Yeah, Jordi was unforgettable.


Worf is one of my favorite Trek characters... thanks to DS9. On TNG he could easily have been replaced with any other stoic Klingon warrior.
