Nuclear Pies with Zap Nafs

In Star Trek, I think somewhere in the 21st century (?), mankind is united after the Vulcans appear on Earth after Cochran makes his historic flight, after the world had faced some limited Nuclear War..I may have messed that summary up, so I am sorry if I did..

But how long do you think we have left? How long do you think mankind can keep stumbling forward before we face our first limited Nuclear War..

So...two questions here

1. Will we ever make contact with intelligent alien life? And if so, would it unite us?

2. How much percent of Star Trek's general future do you think will come to pass. I don't mean klingons or Romulans, but I mean a peaceful Earth united and joining with other worlds in the peaceful exploration of space?

or..is it all a pie in the sky?

I don't think we'll ever have a full out, nuclear war. In case no one has noticed, we're blowing up people just fine with the armaments we have now. Nuclear war would be suicidal between nations.

Will we have a nuclear disaster? Will a terrorist group get their hands on a tactical or "suitcase" bomb? Probably at some point, unless we can defuse the tensions that provoke the kind of hatred we see in the world. Even then, it's a small chance of that actually happening.

Technologically, our imaginations will always outpace actual capabilities, so faster than light travel, transporter and antigravity are probably way off in the distant future. Transforming planets into livable places humans can colonize, mining asteroids and moons for resources, manufacturing in zero-gee environments, computers and medical technologies, seem like they'd happen in the not too distant future. The speed at which new technology is changing lives now seems to make that argument.

1. If I had to bet on it: Doubtful.

2. 50/50. Some of the tech is nearly here now.

Much of the world is fairly peaceful. Some of the world is anything but peaceful, but they don't desire anarchy for it's own sake, but towards some political end. Peace could still happen.

You know, RobertScorpio, before this post, I saw DumbDumb2007 all over your writings but I didn't know if I could prove it to anyone. Now I know I can. Thanks for writing this complete piece of trash. With this post, it is pretty transparent who you are.

I've asked you this before and you've never answered me. I'd appreciate an answer now. Here's my question: back when you were Bones1864, how did you walk away from over 16,000 posts? I couldn't have done it. That's stones, man. I admire you for it. I really do.

You are the second person to refer to me as someone else, though the other person referred to me as someone completely different.

I am not any of these other three the two of you have referred to me as. I think this thread is an interesting one, as are some of my other ones TREK WEALTH $$$ and DECKER, HERO or FOOL for example...

But its all cool though. But calling other people's threads stupid or dumb as you did mine is not cool. There are some other threads here that I think are interesting, but I would never say they were stupid. We all have different likes and dis-likes. And we are all inspired by Star Trek in different ways.

But...no harm no foul

Please, if you are to make such comments do so via PM - they can easily throw threads off course.
