"Now this is Podracing!"

Dunno, I didn't really see that as being rude, but moreso uncomfortable. He's probably just really put off and tired of the questions which likely everyone asks him, from a period of his life that he rather put behind. If anything, I found the interviewer annoying and lacking in tact. There were a couple of times that I was cringing at some of the questions.

^ Just watched that clip. Although I agree and all the above the is true, if he's sick of being asked about TMP and is tired of talking about it... he probably shouldn't go all the way to Australia to a convention where all he has to talk about is TMP.
Unless he was really hoping to be asked questions about Jingle All The Way?

"Why do people keep asking me about TMP? I wasn't even born when that movie came out? Arrrgggghhh!"

:)

Well, true. I guess maybe he naively thought that people would be more mature about it. There's a way to talk about TMP with him without making it personal and be more sensitive about it. That video came across as "Well, tell me about the most painful time in your life and how it affected you." The obvious thing is, not very well, and he has a negative association with it and it's no wonder he was so uncomfortable. Those questions strike me as trying to dig for a tabloid style reaction, in the tone they were asked. On the interviewer's side, you can tell they just wanted to get material. I would have asked him instead if he was looking forward to the new movies. One would hope that his experience didn't sour him from enjoying the upcoming movies.

I see what you did there... ;)

To be honest, watching videos like this I can understand why people may not like the guy. He was just being needlessly rude here:

Honestly, were I in his position I'd be the exact same way. That interviewer was being a douche to be honest, and if anything Lloyd was a lot nicer to him than he deserved.

And although I can't find a source on this, I always liked something Samuel L Jackson supposedly said in defense of Jake Lloyd. "He was only a kid working with a director who doesn't know how to work with actors. He gave the best performance he could under those circumstances."

To be honest, the prequels did have a number of really talented actors involved. And while a number of them do deliver solid performances, none of them really knocked it out of the park, acting wise. The prequels just aren't actor-friendly material, regardless how much talent that actor may or may not have.

The interviewer's job is to research their subject enough to understand how the questions will interact with the interviewee prior to the interview and do something intelligent that will create an informative and entertaining dialog that isn't a rehash of a thousand other interviews with answers everyone already knows. The interviewer failed to understand his subject. So I liked the interview on Jake's behalf. It was the perfect mix of cynicism and suspicion.

But by the way, the choice for the title of this thread was also perfection.

I can't wait to see Jake on Letterm... Oh, drat.

Wow. Could it be as simple as that? Did Anakin fall to the Dark side because of a bad prescription?

The Jedi thought that was what a high midiclorian count does and meditation is the way to settle it. Worked for Yoda (mostly).

Yoda's would take too long since they'd have to cover everything for nine centuries.

Oh you mean Lloyd? Too young.
