Well, I've just tightened it up a bit and I now believe it will come in just under 10,000. Or at least, if it does creep over it won't be by more than about 100...I'll continue aiming for under 10,000 of course.

Well, I've just tightened it up a bit and I now believe it will come in just under 10,000. Or at least, if it does creep over it won't be by more than about 100...I'll continue aiming for under 10,000 of course.
Question. Does the character have to be a member of the military at the time this happens (or at all)? Do they even have to be an adult at the time? One of my characters has finally come forward and seems willing to tell a story, but I wanted to make sure it was acceptable first.
My story is about a civilian who is a child for much of it. So I hope it's okay...

Still, I'm assuming your character is Cardassian. Mine isn't, so that might help.

^ Cool! Mind you I operate on the 'type it up as each idea happens' style of writing. Which can affect how a story turns out admittedly, which is why I've started to make some notes on the ruddy thing.

Yeah, same here mate. i've got enough fingers crossed to keep me from typing.
i do the same thing btw. but the story i write up in my little black book is rarely the one i post. i do major redecorating as i go along.
Well, it's done. I've posted it. 
It might be too long, if so, I'll undersand. It was a bit rushed in the end- the second half is a bit cramped in. It "should" have been longer, I think, but of course I was trying to stay within 10,000. Failed by about 200...I await the verdict...
