So... I'm not sure if the following would be good enough, but I decided to go with the old Yorktown concept from way back in the day and mix in some Syd Mead for good measure.

The current scale (see the windows near the top of the central cone) might not be good enough for me. I had planned on throwing a shuttlebay at the cone's bottom but right now that space is not big enough. I'm afraid that I need to increase it to 2x to make it workable and I think at that point the whole ship really becomes too big. But yeah, we'll see...

I like the bussard collectors (they're still that; Star Trek has no copyright on the concept's use because it's an actual theoretical decive) but I might need to play with them a bit more.

So Excellent!!!!!
I did a ship back in my Starfleet Command days, that did similar...but this is epic!!!
Bro I love what you did here. You guys who have been doing Ships are truly knocking it out of the park!

Oh how did you add the "Contest: enter" to the thread?

Been playing around with the interiors a bit...

The GUI is a bit of a pain. I'm trying to blend Syd's vision with what we know and love but it's pretty difficult.

That looks very promising. Having to make a GUI is what kept me away from trying to make a bridge too, cuz that alone is a task big enough to be its own art challenge.

Ambassador Sarek and his wife Amanda arrive at the USS Yorktown, having just arrived via courier shuttle. They are there to escort their son to his newest station: the USS Enterprize, seen in the distance. Sarek helps his wife out, for while a courier shuttle might be one of the few small faster than light ships, they are not known for their comfort. Their pilot, in the meanwhile, awaits further instructions from the bay master.
From the creative minds of Gene Rodenberry and Syd Mead comes STAR TREK: DRAMA IN THE STARS!
