Noticed something while watching Flesh & Stone

He just has a habit of serializing DW and you can see elements of his writing carry over from season to season. He plans it out much more than RTD ever seemed to. As for the Girl in the Fireplace connection, I believe you can see the return of the creatures from that episode in one of the series 6 part 2 trailers.

I don't think those are related to the clockwork robots in The Girl In The Fireplace at all.

Either that or he has very few original ideas and ends up recycling them in his new scripts. Just playing devil's advocate ;) I thought it was pretty funny that Moffat's very first script as show runner was a rerun of "Blink" :D

The Eleventh Hour was more a repeat of The Girl In The Fireplace than Blink.

^^The Weeping Angel story is actually the first scipt Moffat wrote as showrunner. The script for The Eleventh Hour was written in January 2008 when RTD was still in charge.

Actually, Moffat seems to be continuing story threads from his previous season, unlike RTD who had most of the story threads resolved within the season, and the next one was kind of starting over.

And I don't think the Clockwork Droids are returning. And even if they did, all that would mean is that Moffat is revisiting previous aliens. We have no proof that while writing Girl in the Fireplace Moffat was thinking "When I'm in charge of the show in season 6, I'm bringing these guys back."

You can see from Silence in the Library and that fireplace episode that SM plans well in advance. He's the British equivalent of JMS of Babylon 5 fame, I think.

I wonder what JMS would say to that. Does he watch Dr Who I wonder.

The clockwork droids were for repairing the ship and malfunctioned. they had no evil intent so i can't see how he'd bring them back in a good way.

So, no one ever comments if the lack of ducks in the duck pond was a planned reference to the crack erasing things, i.e. ducks got zapped, no ducks in the duck pond.
I thought it was a reference to Amy, another Pond with something important missing. Duck Pond with no ducks, little Amelia Pond living alone in a big house with no family....
