Nostalgia question: what year did you see your first TOS episode?

As hinted at above, I grew up in a very religiously conservative home. I was a homeschooled Jehovah's Witness, so the ideas about humanism and evolution presented in that movie (specifically the Special Longer Cut that was on VHS at the time) were absolutely revolutionary to me, and it set me up to seek those themes out when watching the original show and, as I became an adult, in the world around me as well.

Can't remember the year but it must have been the early 90s as my dad stuck it on the TV on the BBC one Sunday lunchtime. He told me that he and his brothers used to love watching it when it first came to the UK back in 1969.

I feel like it might have been either The Devil in the Dark or even Operation: Annihilate! but I loved it.

I got the TOS-R DVDs as a present for my birthday, the summer before 4th grade. I had found my dad's old Star Trek Technical Manual and wanted to see the show that all those cool drawings were from. Within the last decade or so.

First weekly TV show I was allowed to stay up past 8pm on a school night to watch.
(I begged my mom all week once I saw it listed in the TV Guide)

We had a 19" ZENITH Color TV I sat on the floor about 3 feet from looking up at.
(it sat on a TV stand)

The stand looked like this but was all silver metal.

This was a similar TV model.
I use to fiddle like crazy with the antenna to get a clear picture.

Court Martial back in 1970 on the BBC. I'd heard how good the show was but I can't say I was impressed by the episode. Not sure when ai watched again and what the episode was?

Earliest that I can remember is 1975. I'm sure it was playing in my house before that.

I think it was about that year for me. I recall it being on WHN channel 9 on Tuesdays and Thursdays


But I would have been 3 at the time, so not sure how accurate that was.

Later it was regularly on Channel 32, WFLD for many years

I just asked Google about where Trek aired here in Cincinnati in 1975. It says PBS, but I can't ever remember it airing there.

Star Trek aired in 1975 in Cincinnati on PBS1. The show follows the adventures of the starship USS Enterprise and its crew3.
