Norton Internet Security

Crewman47

I've got both Norton Antivirus and Internet Security, and have done since I got my PC, and although I've had no problems with the anti virus I find that with the Internet security I can't get most online applications to work properly, like most sites with pics, internet radio, most other sites and mostly any online game with Javascript.

So I was wondering, is Internet Security really worth having on my machine or should I take it off and just stick with the anti virus? And speaking of the anti virus, is Norton the best one to stick with or is there anything better that anyone would prefer.

Thanks

I'd recommend that you don't deactivate Internet Security. If you don't believe me check your activity logs and see how many intrusion attempts it blocks in the period of a day.

Get rid! - there are better alternatives out there that don't hog system resources or generally make life unnecessarily awkward for you by blocking virtually everything you try to do (be it legit or otherwise). Having said that, removing the damned thing is an adventure in itself because of the crap it leaves behind (it's one of the few apps I know where the vendor's actually had to write a removal tool specifically to get shut of all the junk the uninstaller leaves behind! :wtf: - I've become rather familiar with it through repeated use.... ). The AV on it's own isn't the worst out there, but it isn't the best either - Kaspersky Anti-Virus or NOD32 (from Eset Software) are better IHMO.
