Northeast Frankenstorm, hurricane Sandy.

I'm just crossing my fingers that the MTA decides to shut down, because if they do: Three Day Weekend! I know, I know, that's a selfish and irresponsible attitude...but, Three Day Weekend!

 That's the spirit! Always look on the bright side.

Yes, yes. It's what I do. ;)

WRC in D.C. is covering the storm constantly- no regular programming. I'm pretty well informed without freaking out. :p

I take it back. Everyone out in the storm trying to get on the news looks like a douche except this guy, who is just fantastic!

The crane will make this so much more exciting! When this becomes a TV movie the crane will be an added fun time!

A friend of mine with the FDNY has been texting me shots of the crane and just reported that the bouy at the mouth of New York Harbor was reading waves at 22+ feet.. Geez louise..

He's at the scene of the crane collapse right now.. Really frightning..

Dammit, really should have provisioned more. Chili and cliff bar dinner tonight!

I don't always stay inside for a whole day... but when I do, I prefer it to be on account of a megastorm.

Yeah, I've got a hurricane here. The rain finally hit a few hours ago-- before that it was mainly wind. Now it's a downpour and the trees are bending well past design specs. But I've still got power and cable, so far. I'd love to go back and see what the beach looks like now, but I'm not going out in this. Probably.

To everyone impacted by this storm, I hope you all stay safe. Hopefully everyone makes it through alright.

Good Luck to everybody in the storm's path.

Stay safe.

Everyone in the path of this thing, be safe!
Thanks, folks. :)

^Ditto on the thanks for wel-wishes.

And,
The Federal Government will be closed tomorrow.

CELEBRATE!

SWEET LORD, THANK YOU!

Also, the Most Unintentionally Snobby Hurricane Sandy Facebook Update? My friend (who is very sweet, but also very wealthy and slightly clueless) wrote, "I've already eaten most of my emergency brie."

Of course, I shouldn't judge. I ate a third of my emergency manchego last night. :(

It's turning into a clusterfuck of shitstorms out there.

I'm staying with a co-worker for a few nights until my new place opens up, and he went out an hour and a half ago for a food / necessities run.

His umbrella and coat did not survive the trip.
