Noonien Soong Saved Earth

Soong built Data, & had Data not been there to infiltrate the Borg collective, in BOBW, then there likely would have been nothing to stop Earth from being assimilated

You'd think that would've been something the old man might've wanted to hear from his "Son" on his death bed, a few weeks later

A simple "We saved Humanity, Dad" would've sufficed.

Well Picard's parents probably saved the Earth a few times... And Kirk's parents saved civilization as we know it a few times... And, well, most characters' parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.

Soong had to actually invent something. His genius saved Earth

I look at it like this - the same way Duras can't be blamed for his father betrayin' the Klingons at Khitomer (TNG 'Sins of the Father'), neither can Soong get credit for Data's actions in TNG 'Best of Both Worlds, Part Two'.

In a weird way, creating Data actually saved Soong from going down in history as the inventor who created the worst man made threat to Humanity since the atomic bomb

I thought this would have something to do with the episode Time's Arrow.

If not for Data, there would be no reason for the Enterprise crew to travel back in time. Without them, they would never have kicked those alien vampires' butts.

Sure and Khan saved Earth also.
No Khan, No STII, no death of Spock, No STIII. Kirk is stuck on Earth when the probe attacks and Earth is destroyed.
