The Iron Codex, the second book in Star Trek author David Mack's Dark Arts historical fantasy series, comes out on the 15th. The first book in the series, The Midnight Front, focused on a magical conflict that took place during WWII, and now this book will follow the survivors into the '50s and the Cold War. The first book was a war story, and now this book will be a spy story.
The Iron Codex has been included on both Amazon's and Barnes & Noble's lists of January's best science fiction and fantasy books.
Last month Tor.com posted a novelette, Hell Rode With Her, that serves as a prequel to Iron Codex and also a deleted scene from The Midnight Front.
I loved The Midnight Front, and am eagerly counting down the days for The Iron Codex. I have a ton of unread books sitting around, both phyically and digitally, but this one will be jumping right to the top of the stack the morning of the 15th.
