Non-Trek: A (big) small preview...

(EDIT: I've seen many people embed thumbnail versions of images in threads, which show the dimensions of the full image; I'm assuming there's a built-in function for easily doing this, but I can't figure out where it is. Any tips?)

A friend and I have been working on a 3D animation project at our university for the last two terms, and we've at long last reached the point where we're running some tests for the final look and feel of the finished animation. So I finally feel confident that we've got assets that look good enough to make public and get some feedback; as such, here's a little taste of what we're doing.

We should have a website or page or something up soon to show off more. Enjoy! :D

A near-final texture test for the main character:

Final space test:

A final texture and model test:

Initial lighting/compositing test. The textures are incomplete and missing some maps, but this gives the best indication of the final look we're developing:

All comments, feedback and critiques welcome. More to come...

I knew how to do thumbnails before the upgrade. Now I can bairly get the smilies to work. That's progress for you.

Nice pictures btw.

The thumbnails that imageshack provides is the only place that I know of that shows the final image size on the thumbnail. I don't think it's part of the TrekBBS system.

You can do thumbnail images with code such as this (but using the "[ ]" brackets instead of "< >")

<url=your full size image URL><img>your thumbnail image URL</img></url>

EDIT: Oops, looks like you already knew how to do that!

Four replies and three of the four are about the thumbnail issues and not my art. I feel so special!
