Non-Star Trek space opera and military scifi books you enjoy

Just finished Craig Alanson's Expeditionary Force Book 14, Match Game.

The other AI that Skippy the Magnificent was hunting has contacted the Elders and they are coming back in the next book.

I also completed the latest book in Jack Campbell's The Lost Fleet Outlands titled Resolute.

The alien species called the Dancers (and look like spider-wolves) gifts the Alliance with a 3 D star chart of areas known to the Dancers. The Alliance can see they are surrounded with not a lot of room to expand, and an unknown species on one side of Alliance space.

The gist of the spoilers is there will be more books in both Expeditionary Force (by Alanson) and The Lost Fleet (by Campbell).

Gordon R. Dickson's Dorsai books.
Seconded. There's also a fair bit of really excellent filk music based on this series as well. It's not easy to find, though, at least not the best stuff by Leslie Fish and Julia Ecklar.

My own recommendations would be the Grand Tour series by Ben Bova, and the Alliance-Union series by C.J. Cherryh.

Ken Lozito - First Colony - 13 books in the series.
Military Sci-fi series about settling a colony on a distant world, and uncovering the mysteries that the planet hides.

I just ordered the First Colony: books one and two. Amazon shows First Colony: book 14: Expedition Earth, was released at the end of August, 2022.
