Non-Canon Trek Registry Resources

Board members,

'Back in the day', there were a number of websites trying to sort out the various offerings from licensed and fan sources of ship names and registry numbers, compiling as complete a list as possible. Looking around with a search engine recently I couldn't find anything that seemed to fit this description, other then a few sparse offerings. Possibly the old sites are gone, and haven't been replaced, or I'm not using the right terms to search for them.

I'm wondering if anyone can assist me either with URLs or their own saved information, to assist me in my own ongoing projects (that are slowly getting the dust knocked off them).

Your assistance is greatly appreciated,

Whorfin

The one compiled by James Dixon can still be found among his other files at Dave's Holodeck:

Then there is Captain Mike's Galactopedia that compiles a great number of fan/paraphernalia ships, but in alphabetical order within this online encyclopedia:

A comprehensive alphabetical-categorical list that also includes ships mentioned in the passing in novels can be found on the Übergeeky pages:

I've got my own Excel sheet, of course - but it's a personal take with personal interpretations and omissions. ;)

Thanks Timo, I'll check these out and see if they ring any bells. If anyone else has any suggestions I'm interested. I know there are smaller sites out there with personal designs and registries, and I would be interested in those as well. I'm trying to archive all lists for future reference, gather a maximum amount of data, collate it, and shuffle out what seems to be a consistent set of numbers for a particular endeavor. Number collisions, duplications of ship names in a particular time period, and other inconsistencies have always plagued such attempts at bringing order to chaos.

Yes, I have one of those as well. Or at least I did (depending upon the autopsy of a damaged hard drive and if I can find more recent backups). I too used it as a customized personal list and therefore its of less use for my present purposes than the untouched original data was. I would be interested in looking at whatever you have, but don't want to pry into your personal information.

Peace and long life. :vulcan:
