No truth In Beauty unimportant sound goof.

Caught the last 10 minutes of this,( episode 62), & noticed Kirk walking out of a room & the door opened, but no sheesh-fah! sound effect. More of a wood sound. It happenned quick, but It was pretty clear.

Yes I know, unimportant piece of trivia. But perhaps some other goofs will get tossed in here.

This happens several times during the series. If I recall correctly, there are some particlularly glaring examples of this in "The Corbomite Manouver." Somebody just failed to notice in post-production and the actual sound of the wood doors went into the final sound mix.

Actually, the episode title should be abbreviated "...In Truth No Beauty".

As for the sound effects problem, they could excuse that by saying it's covered by the music.

The worse mistake is that Kirk was still there at all.

According to the opening of the episode, nobody should have been there except a Vulcan with a visor, apparently due to the chance the Medusan might be seen for a moment once the carry case began to dematerialize.

From what I've been told, the decision was made to hold the shot of Kirk leaving until after the beam-out, so that Shatner could be counted as in the scene for a longer period of time. (Whether this was to tickle fans or to tickle Shatner, I don't know.)

I've heard of a fan fic in which Kirk goes mad moments after leaving the Transporter Room, and as Miranda did for him, Spock has to meld with Kirk to restore his sanity.

Maybe the music also drowned out the sounds of Kirk beginning to cackle insanely as he left? :p

I know this may not be on topic, but does anyone know if the blooper reals have been posted on the internet yet? :vulcan:

I forget the episode, but there's also a shot where Sulu hit a bunch of buttons on the helm console and they plum forgot to add the bleeps. All we hear is "thud thud thud thud thud!"

Although there were many moments in the series where we actually hear the loud noise of switches being flipped sans post production beeps, I think I do remember one episode where Sulu presses a few fake buttons and we can hear the numb tapping of his fingers. I remember trying my best to ignore it.
