No reason to watch Mad Men anymore (casting spoiler)

Temis the Vorta

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
They dropped Salvatore!

I should be glad. Now I can bail on this draggy snoozefest of a show without feeling like I’m missing anything. Sal’s plotline was the only one that held any interest for me. And it’s easy to shoehorn him back into the show. Desperate to save his job, he gives in to Lucky Strike asshole. Then if the new agency wants that lucrative client, they just need to hire Sal. Who is happy to play along, because what he really wants is revenge against that bastard Don. A plotline like that might keep me from falling asleep during the episodes. It's about time Don got what's coming to him.

Aww...that's horrible news. :( Sal was the good guy, the shining spot in an otherwise gloomy show. I'll repeat what a poster on that site mentioned about the news: "I hope Dexter does a crossover and gets rid of these characters!" They got rid of the wrong character, imo.

I'll stick with the show, but it won't be the same.

Matt Weiner explained to TV Guide magazine that, "I felt it was an expression of the times that he couldn't work there anymore. [The sticky situation with the Lucky Strike scion was] the ultimate case of sexual harassment." AMC had no comment on the report that Batt was leaving the show. Ugh. Poor guy.

I was hoping to see the character land on its feet, but I understand the decision. Perhaps he can still guest-star (as a guy who started his own art company)...?

Temis you watched the show you didnt like for just one secondary character? Thats a little weird. He wasnt even in every episode.

The show will still be good. I liked the Sal character as well but there are plenty of more great characters on the show.

^She watched Stargate Atlantis every week (and then moaned about how much she hates the show on the review threads) just for Joe Flanigan!

Meh, no big deal. I mean, I liked the Salvatore Romano character a lot, but he was hardly the bedrock of the show. It would have been nice if maybe the new Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce could have used him in some artistic capacity, but with Lucky Strike their big "make or break" client, that really would have been a stretch.

Aside from Romano, all of the interesting characters (as well as one or two uninteresting ones) seem to be still onboard.

I'm actually more concerned about the fact that January Jones is remaining, especially after Weiner's comment about her being "in her own show." As much as I've loved watching Betty Draper in the past, my real interest in the new season is on the "growing pains" of the new agency. If we're going to be pulled away from that periodically to schlep out the Las Vegas to see how Betty's new little romance is doing, I fear that's going to bore me to tears.

I liked the first season. S2 was okay. I kinda hung on for the third season, which got increasingly draaagy. Then, just as I was thinking about bailing, I started to like Sal's plotline. But that was a minor part of the whole. By the time the season ended, I was really on the fence whether I'd bother with S3. This has pushed me off the fence.

See how little it takes to get me to watch crap? I am far from picky!:D But there has to be something. Mad Men now has nothing, so phooey.

^ Well, Joe Flanigan WAS the only good reason to watch Atlantis during the last couple of seasons of the show.

But I will say this for Atlantis - it never got so bad that I was forced into simply turning off the sound like I did with Andromeda, just so I could drool over Keith Hamilton Cobb.

And hey! It's something, anyway.

Is Betty still a regular on the show? I hope not. What an insufferably annoying character.

The redhead with the HUGE boobs is disgusting. I totally forget her name but she was at an awards show like a week ago and her boobs looked ridiculous. They were way too big, her dress was squishing them (which made them look like fat girl boobs as opposed to boobs on a fit chick) and they were veiny.

THIS IS UNATTRACTIVE, LADIES.

EDIT: Her name is Christina Hendricks. If I can find a pic of her at this show, I'll post it.

I think the end to Sal's arc was an appropriate one as it was tragic but also sadly accurate for the time period. No way in hell am I jumping off the show, though. It gets better with each season; season three was far and away my favorite.

I can't speak for the awards show, but on the show..... Hendricks is ravishing. An amazing figure (and not rail-thin anorexic either). Joan is amazing.
