This was a good episode. It was great to see Amy Acker on a show again, and I like her character's burgeoning relationship with George, though it looks like that could end in quite an unfortunate manner. Speaking of George, I again enjoyed watching him act in his professional capacity as an ADA. It's also interesting how the series so far is carefully walking the line between darker stories (the mob angle) and lighter fare (Daphne and Katie's respective relationship issues).

Loved seeing Amy Acker again. This ep was good, but a little anti-climactic. I enjoyed Stephanie's arc the most.

Decent episode. I was expecting there to be a twist with Amy Acker's character. I thought she was in league with the gangsters, from that little look she shared with that guy in the courtroom. I was glad that they didn't kill her off. It would've been such a waste.

I thought it was a bit too coincidental that the telekinetic guy just happened to know where Jim was during the scene where he got unmasked and just happened to show up at the end to date the lab tech. I wonder if he broke into her email? If so, how could he know that Will was really JJ? He didn't seem to know who Will was and decided to just go with it.

I'm assuming that Stephen Collins doesn't know about the Powell's powers, but it would seem like he would be suspicious that Julie Benz could just go to Italy just like that and return so quickly. Oh well.

As I said, I liked it for the most part. Amy Acker is a good addition. Julie, Amy, and Autumn are all very easy on the eyes.

Didn't comment on last week's episode, but I enjoyed that one as well. Especially when George shut that racially profiling cop down. That was great.

The Watcher has already seen Jim's face, so it might not have been too difficult to locate him and then follow him.

Knowing Katie's connection to the Powells, I imagine he had followed her to the restaurant, looking for an opportunity to introduce himself. Once there, all he had to do was walk up to her and "play along" since she was looking around for someone who obviously wasn't showing up.

sounds like I would have liked this ep better than last week's which I found a bit boring. I skipped last night's b/c there was a Nova stonehedge docu on pbs at the same time(yes I know, but Im an archeaology nut)
anyone know if abc will reair this ep? they reaired a past one on a friday a couple weeks ago.

Re: No Ordinary Family: "No Ordinary Mobster" - Nov. 16 - Grade & Disc

So why would Sylar II not divulge what he knows about Jim?

And since JJ and Daphne know that there was no real internet dating person, this plotline can't go on for very long unless this turns into Lost and people just stop sharing information with one another for no reason whatsoever.

I was wondering that too about that dude. I wonder if if he feels some time of kinship with supers and might turn out trying to help the Powells or manipulate them into following his own agenda. I wonder if he, and not Stephen Collins, might wind up being the big bad. I don't think it would hurt the show to have a Magneto-type villain.

I can see what you're saying, though I think it stretches credulity a bit, which I shouldn't be surprised with on a show about a superpowered family. So the "Watcher" is the telekinetic guy correct? I still think its a bit too easy for him to find the guy in a city of millions based on his face, unless he has access to the kind of resources that can make that search far easier. I guess since he can impersonate cops, maybe he has all kinds of ties that we just haven't seen.

Even more shaky for me is him approaching the assistant like that. And going along with the Will thing. I mean, unless he can read minds it's going to be hard for him to play along convincingly IMO. I just wish they had segued him into a relationship with the assistant better. I mean, if she had been upset about Will not showing up, and then this guy is there all of a sudden and provides her a shoulder to cry on, I think that might've been better. As it stands now, JJ will know he's a threat, and eventually will tell his parents about the dude. The other way, the dude could lay low for much longer, and maybe insinuate himself into the family all the way, which would make his betrayal even more impactful.

Since he didn't tell King when presented with pretty much the quintessential perfect opportunity, I'd bet he has some agenda that King isn't privy to.

Can't disagree with you there.

The Watcher is Josh Stewart's telekinetic character, yes. I don't entirely disagree with you on the credibility issue, though as you point out, who knows what kind of resources he has.

Can't disagree with you here, either.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out. Maybe in the course of that impromptu "date," he'll admit that he's not the person Katie was waiting for, giving J.J. no reason to peg him as a threat. If he does try to play along, though, you're certainly right that he'll hit a wall pretty damn quickly unless he has telepathy in addition to telekinesis.

Re: No Ordinary Family: "No Ordinary Mobster" - Nov. 16 - Grade & Disc

Sylar II also saw Jim laying on the ground when he went to retrieve earthquake girl. I wonder if he suspected anything then.

Re: No Ordinary Family: "No Ordinary Mobster" - Nov. 16 - Grade & Disc

^ Yeah, that's the incident I was referring to earlier when I said the Watcher had already seen Jim's face even before this episode. He may have suspected something then and had identified Jim at some point after that episode. For all we know so far, he may have been keeping tabs on Jim already prior to this episode.

Re: No Ordinary Family: "No Ordinary Mobster" - Nov. 16 - Grade & Disc

I know Katie's a bit weird and nerdy but she's hot and she has to get dates by going on the internet? I'm not sure I buy that.

Nice twist with the TK guy having his own agenda. I should've seen it coming as it seems so obvious in retrospect.
