"No Mans Land" tie-in audio

From the sounds of things if this one is successful there maybe plans for more Star Trek Picard Audio dramas from an article I read on Trekcore this morning.

It's literally called "No Man's Land?" Haha.

From the synopsis:
Featuring two beloved stars of the hit series “Star Trek: Picard” in their iconic roles – Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine, and Michelle Hurd as Raffi.

Michelle Hurd's iconic role as Raffi. LOL

I'm not seeing another thread, but close if there is, please mods.

So, what do you think about this?

Are we finally getting Big Finish like content?

This show is truly taking on a life of its own.

And to think it was originally conceived as a Short Trek!

Give it twenty years and we'll see. :shifty:

I'm wondering if this is the Picard version of a Short Trek?

Dry run for Seven on Prodigy? ***fingers crossed***

From the excerpt, I'm thinking maybe action is not the best genre for Audio... Although it's hard to tell from that short clip.

My bigger issue... Normally I'd be all over this, and also the title is hilarious, but am I the only one thinking they're relegating to Audio what should be on the main show? I get it would be only a handful of Seven/ Raffi scenes and I'm fine with that - I don't want it to be Romance Trek ! - but I think any initial RaVen explorations* should be on Picard.

Call me biased if you need to, because I am.

* And no, I don't mean sex scenes!

I'm hoping it's a dry run for Prodigy (they brought in Fred Tatasciore from Lower Decks).

If she DOES come, I'm guessing it'll be as a Fenris Ranger.

The Diviner is in no position to hire anyone right now.

Prodigy would probably be a better fit for her than LD:

  • She has a way with kids (She'll do things for a child that she won't do for an adult).
  • She has relationships with both Janeway and Chakotay.

I think I agree on every point, the Seven/Raffi relationship is so rushed that I'm glad to be getting development but could it not be on television lol.

And yeah the excerpt being so action-focused is perplexing, it's very much something that doesn't work at all without visuals or narrations and maybe it's just because it's very devoid of context but I needed to give it a second listen to figure out what was going on.

Trekmovie has a new podcast interview with Kirsten Beyer and her co author about No Man's land it's interesting to hear how they came up with the story with Raffi and Seven f Nine and more background story of the Fenris rangers. Trek.fm is also going to have an interview soon with Kirsten Beyer too. They mentioned it on twitter.

Listening to it now...........released about an hour ago. Fun so far........my first audiobook.

I might have to look into that. :shifty:

I date from the cassette era where the narrators are as dull as dishwater.

What narrators did you have? Man, some of the Star Wars books on tape were the best when I was younger.

Plus Burl Ives.

I don't remember. It was so long ago.

Back then, you were limited to what could fit on a cassette (large sections were frequently edited out).
