Ninja Hyperbutt!!!

If you could travel back through time, and steal a prop from TOS what would it be? Kirk's chair? Spock's ears? Uhura's skirt? Nomad? Sargon? The horta pizza rug?

Yes, phasers and communicators are always up there on the list. But you can actually get those...but what about Bayloks puppet???

So...Ninja fans!!! If you could dawn a black ninja suit, and steal a prop from the set (circa 1968) would it be??

Oh...my pick??? Hmmmmmmmm....this is tough.

I think, all all the props? Yeah..I gotta go with Kirk's chair. Second to that? The cloaking device. It's a 3-fer. You get Nomad-Sargon and the cloaking device all in one swipe

The Gorn suit. Obviously, it's part of Trek lore, but the design would have worked equally well within Doctor Who, vintage or current.

Sincerely,

Bill

Does the NCC-1701 model count? That'd be my first pick. After that, I'd go with the consol/view screen at Sulu's station.

Spock! :D

What do you mean I can't take him?! :vulcan:

Oh well. Let's see. Spock's Vulcan harp then.

Didn't someone already steal the Captains chair at some point during or after the series? Was it ever known who it was and how it was done?

Also missing is the 3ft Enterprise Miniature.

Is it possible someone has already gone back in time and took it ?

Well, it would explain why it wasn't found all these years.

* Wonders who went back in time and took these things *

I'd love to have Spock's station...the entire thing w/ the hood viewer and his earpiece receiver.

if i could go back and nick a prop or two i think i'd go for either the romulan bop model or the klingon cruiser model. Probaly wouldn't get em in me pocket mind. Failing that a tribble

I think I would clean house!

My top 15...

1: Klingon/Eminian sidearms

2: McCoy's "saltshaker" handheld mid-scanner.

3: The Kolos box!

4: The M-5 computer (or the Beta V, rigged to pop out of an ordinary wall)

5: Gary Seven's fake ID's, and his killer pen

6: The props from the court-martial room in "The Menagerie" (ship's computer/server, viewscreen, ship's bell, and those flags-- I want to see what they looked like!) PLUS: The computer/server racks from "The Menagerie, Part 1" and "The Immunity Syndrome"

7: The pistols used by "Cage" Enterprise crewmen

8: Scotty's magnetic probe from "That Which Survives"

9: Kirk's phaser rifle from "Where No Man Has Gone Before"

10: The TOS Romulan uniform

11: The "Lawgivers" robes and tubes from "Return of the Archons"

12: The encased Enterprise micro-miniature from "Catspaw"

13: Kyle's agonizer device from "Mirror, Mirror"

14: Kirk's bomb and anti-grav from "Obseesion"

15: Spock's/Flint's remote control/PDA from "That Which Survives"/"Requiem for Methuselah"

Going back over the list of TOS eps on Memory Alpha, what strikes me is how simple and rare these special props are. TOS writers and producers often relied on clever tricks, voice-overs and other non-FX to create the illusion of something unusual or super-high-tech. Many of these non-FX, like the self-destruct sequence or the anti-gravs, give the illusion of something powerful that relied more on imagination than expensive theatrics.

But I think if there's something unique I want to try on the TOS set when nobody's looking, it would be to try out Kirk's quarters and see what they're like.
