It looked cool, but I can't say I really got into it. The premise was, let's face it, absurd. I wouldn't mind seeing an episode or two again though - honestly, I can't remember much about it except how stark and evocative it looked and that it had Barbara Bain and Martin Landau in it. My first thought is with those two, how bad can it be? But the answer is, "Maybe really bad," so I'd have to see it again.

I saw it when it was first on, and loved it at the time, largely because it often made no sense at all, in that Classic Doctor Who WTF is going on sort of way.

I'm watching it again on dvd, but took a break to complete watching DS9, and I'm back and forth on it.

But both opening themes rock!

Never watched it.

Also have to admit for some reason until just recently I thought this show and SAaB were the same show. I have no idea how that works either.

I remember the build up to the series. I was VERY excited because I loved my TOS. I was a teenager. I had a TOS fan friend and we both could hardly wait for SP1999.

It was so goddamn boring I almost cried.

Like most SF series at the time, the first season started off with great premise and promise, a real vision despite the TV budget. Then, during the last season, Fred Freiberger got involved and introduced sex and a monster-of-the-week because "that's what those Americans seem to like."

Plus, almost every ep had cool 'sploshuns!
