Nimoy stopped speaking to Shatner

This surprises me because I saw Nimoy on Shatner's talk show a few years ago and they seemed friendly enough then.

Maybe. I watched the episode of Shatner's Raw Nerve were Nimoy appeared, and they seemed every inch the friendly old Jews they were: relaxed, comfortable, entertaining. It was exactly they way you hoped they would be with each other. That episode was January 2009, according to imdb.

Shatner's "The Captains" was 2011, over 2 years later. So if Shatner offended Nimoy during the making of The Captains, it would have been after the last time I saw them together.

I find Shatner's words about it interesting.
'It is something I will wonder about and regret forever.'

The word regret implies he knows he did something wrong. I'm wondering if Nimoy had told him he didn't even want his photos or image in the film and Shatner ignored the request. But why Nimoy would feel so strongly about it that it would break up a friendship is odd as well. The way that article read, it made it sound like Nimoy hated Trek or something at the end and that goes against everything he ever wrote in his autobiography. At least the one I read.

Leonard Nimoy did an interview with Piers Morgan in 2014, he asked Leonard if he and Bill hung out and he said that they are both busy. That Bill is traveling around all over the country and doing his one man show that they don't have time to hang out.
I did read on IMDB that they didn't get along while they were filming TOS, Leonard said they had their ups and downs like any friendship. Adam, Leonard's son, said they had a brother type relationship and like any relationship they didn't always agree. I'd like to think they were close over the years. I want to get the "Mind Meld" special they did at Leonard Nimoy's home.

Not really. I'd describe them as sensationalist or gossipers would work. But it depends how much of that is verified in Shats book.

Not to crap on your Thread, I love the topic of Shatniation and Nimoy, and I want to believe they were cool...

So if true, are there any TOS cast members who haven't had negative feelings toward Shatner? I haven't heard of De Kelley saying anything.

Be a shame if Shatner and Nimoy weren't civil at least let alone friendly.

That's the one I was thinking of.

This would be a shame if true. My first thought when I saw that it was a Daily Mail report was is it really true?

If it is, whilst it's shocking after their close friendship all these years, Shatner has been known to rub his former co-stars the wrong way. Who knows?

I think, I hope, that people are reading this the wrong way. Friends drift apart, lose contact, and sometimes don't speak for years. Shatner may just be expressing his regret that he didn't do more to stay in touch the last few years.

I lost touch with a friend many years ago, and I very much regret not finding a way to reestablish a connection before he passed.

It's sad if true. If there was some issue between them then it's a pity they couldn't patch things up. No point holding a grudge in your old age against a long term friend.

I think this final falling out is just a fact of life with geriatric people, and not a reflection on Shatner's worthiness as a friend. Nimoy was in severely declining health and his brain may have been paying a delayed-action price for years of alcoholism, leading to depression and mood issues. It's not uncommon for an elderly person with these health issues to turn bitter toward the end, and it's not their fault. It's a brain thing. For all we know, Nimoy might have stopped talking to a lot of people in his final year.

The entire TOS ensemble seem to be quite a temperamental crew to one degree or another, tbh. The exception being Kelley I suppose.
