And now a New Year's gift! The Europa is probably my favourite DSC design, and among my favourite non-Enterprise starfleet ships. Since the USS Europa from Discovery is pre-Kirk, and the Europa class in STO is post-Picard (TNG style), I decided to do something in the middle: a refit version that would sit somewhere around the time of Star Trek VI. Here is the original and the STO version: And now my refit version: Happy new year's, and I hope 2021 bears better fruit than 2020 for everyone.
Grand idea! STO establishes that such intermediate designs are possible, with the Walker-/Georgiou-/Shenzhou-class lineup.
Not a huge fan of what they did on the Georgiou, however. It doesn't really even look like the Shenzhou. Hey, that's a great idea for a new project!
Thank you for all your comments and happy new year as well. I hope 2021 turns out generally better than 2020.
Ever since I first saw the Europa, I've been wondering: was Kirk's Farragut a class-sister to that ship? Could it have been such?
