Spoilers Nilsson to Ina switcheroo...

There is mocking of characters, trashing the writers, and bemoaning the state of the franchise. How is that helping to recognize the positive? How is that being a "serious fan?"
Those that fall strictly into "hater" category are not serious fans. Being critical of writing, and mocking some of the characters, while praising others is not being a straight hater. And in the end of the day it’s all personal opinion. No one should take this crap seriously.

What's it like having your infallible ability to predict the future then? Do tell us!

I never said I predicted anything. I'm just taking note of the number of failed predictions made by others on this topic. Since those predictions were particularly "hopeful," given that it would be yet another thing to gripe about with regard to "weak / predictable writing"...I'm taking some minor satisfaction in seeing people having been in error there and being denied the ability to self-congratulate.

Well it gives the Ina Actress a way to participate in the show Sans Make-up. Sometimes it can get tedious to go through 4 hours of makeup for what may become 30 seconds of screen time. Why I think there should be some "Levels" of make up. Extras and Hallways aliens shouldn't have a high level of detail, maybe just a quick rubber mask. so maybe 1 hour instead of 4 hours in the chair.
As for the Red Shirting, I was on that train when they introduced her, and when Tilly said some might not make it, I was like.. yep new girl is dead.. until she wasn't. Wasn't hoping for a death outcome, It was just Telegraphed Hard.

I think Nilsson popped back up in that final scene with Captain Burnham and the new uniforms, right? Maybe that was filmed a bit ahead of schedule (or in pickups) and the actress wasn't available for a couple of months in-between.

Yes, she did.

What’s your definition of criticism?

"The analysis and judgment of the merits and faults of a literary or artistic work".

The other definition of criticism - "the expression of disapproval of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes" - isn't applicable to artistic endeavors.

They don't call them critics for nothing. Those rare 100% scores on rotten tomatoes are still done by critics

Now that is interesting... If this is true, that is, being only negative is not critical, then so is the opposite. Being only positive is also not being critical, as it is applicable to art. Which is exactly what I said few posts above :)

Sidebar: there should be washroom facilities just off the bridge on Discovery. Their particular Deck 1 has enough real estate to fit them into, going by William Budge's deck-by-deck cross-section schematic. Of course, with Saurian, Osnullus, Kelpien and other non-Earth-human officers on duty, those facilities might now be better rigged to adapt to various species' needs...

And now back to your established topic.
