Spoilers Nilsson to Ina switcheroo...

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, but what happened to Nilsson last two episodes? Bridge crew finally gets into action (and a couple extra lines thrown their way) and she is.... not there.
Instead we get "Lt. Ina" out of nowhere:

Where did she come from? The actress Avaah Blackwell has multiple other Discovery credits, including this beauty:

So she's all fine and good as a glorified extra in last couple episode, with couple lines... but where is Nilsson? Or are the producers really saying, the bridge crew are so interchangeable that they can replace one of them and no one would even notice?!

Well not quite Ensign Ricky - not quite as blatant as meeting a random redshirt in the transporter room and him being shot dead 30 seconds after beaming down, but I'd hazard guess that it won't be a million miles away.

Remember how Airiam suddenly had a load of character development thrown at her just before she died?

Something like that.

I got to be honest, I didn't even realize until perusing Memory Alpha yesterday that this was a new character. While watching last week's episode, I just assumed that was Nilsson with dark hair because everyone liked how she looked with dark hair in the Mirror Universe.

It's a nice reminder of how so many "characters" in DSC are non-entities that this is apparently the first time Bryce and Rhys speak to each other. (In Morse, no less!)

I rather doubt we'll ever learn "Lt. Ina's" name, let alone have her speak a relevant line, or learn of a skill she might possess.
But perhaps she's an excellent screamer and backwards-leaper?

Maybe Lt. Ina is from future Starfleet, which would explain why we've never seen her before?

I doubt that any Future Fleeters have signed up, mainly because they would've told us if that was the case. I also feel that when, inevitably, they do sign on, they'll probably be wearing their own uniforms rather than the Discovery style, and we'll know at a glance which faction they're in.

Also, they mentioned they locked up "bridge crew" separate from rest of the crew. So is she an actual bridge crew?! Or by "bridge crew" they meant anyone who happened to be on the bridge at the time?

I doubt she's from future-Starfleet. Uniform aside if you're going to start bringing in Vance's people surely you'd place them a bit higher in the food chain where they can more readily provide counsel to Saru and the rest of the command staff.

I think the latter is the going definition for the former anyway.

The ship has no non-officer characters, which we might gracefully accept as an in-universe feature: there might be an excess of scientists who carry rank for their narrow-scoped expertise rather than their seniority or commanding personality, and this pushes the actual doers deeper to the background. And the only doers we the see are the regular bridge officers, but they get a spore drive wizard or egghead of some other sort attached to the team every now and then. Including ones wearing bronze rather than silver.

Then why is she wearing a Disco uniform instead of a 32nd century uniform?

The Enterprise crew members, including Capt. Pike, changed uniforms when they were reassigned to Discovery. Maybe everyone who serves on Discovery has to wear that uniform until Starfleet/Saru decide otherwise? Judging from the cloaking device debacle, I'm not sure we would be told future SF personnel were transferred to Discovery.

Wasn't she manning Nilsson's station? That makes her bridge crew.

To begin with I actually thought it was Nilsson and they’d just forgotten to dye her hair back blonde after the MU episodes!
