Nightinggale wasn't Kim's first command?

Guy Gardener

I was looking through some synopses today and I recalled Futures End. All the command crew left for 20th century earth and still Kim bossed around a Lieutenant Junior Grade like B'Elanna who must have been subbing for the first officer even though out ranked him and had responsibilities she was ignoring in engineering...

And for all his talk, come Workforce... Harry steps to one side and submits to the authority of the ECH because he doesn't have the stones for command STILL!

Theres a difference to being put in charge when all the other senior officers are on an away mission to commanding a ship in battle, the ECH was programmed with tactics ect that Harry at that stage may not still know.

Think about it, a database with every known combat tactic ever used in battle plus possibly ones by Janeway, Chakotay and Tuvok.

Yeah, but in futures end, all the senior officers were in dangerous enough missions that none of them might have comes back, and as a prime directive issue, he just could have cut his losses and turned tail retaining his captaincy totally... Not that he didn't usually mutiny in favour of staying unde others heel like in Resolutions.

There was more back-up in Future's End though, B'Elanna was still aboard and she had command experience too. I'd say that his first real command was in "Body and Soul." Delta Flyer mission seperated from Voyager.

"Nightingale" was his first command of a non-support craft independent of another command officer.
