Niggling little thoughts about things from Trek Lit

Ever read something in Trek Lit that makes you go "I wonder..."?

Ever get interested in something like a certain starship that appears many times and leaves you curious about it?

Me too.

So, here are some thoughts and questions about Trek Lit that I've had for a while now (and please, feel free to add your own!):

Has it ever been mentioned what starship class the Sugihara (which is an awesome name with an awesome history) is?

Will Arafel Pagro ever return?

B'Liit, a Vulcan?

What really happened on Elamin IX?

Has the capital of Betazed ever been given a name?

On the cover of Q Squared, are those lightsabers?

How good a ship is the Lollypop, and how many phaser blasts does it take to get to the warp core center of the Lollypop?

What happens to Charvanek and Koval post-Nemesis?

That's all I can think of, for now. And I'm not *expecting* answers, just throwing these out here.

Let's find out!

One *slurp*
Two *slurp*
Three *crunch*

The world may never know...

They're rapiers. As for the glow, my best guess is that it's due to...

One is created by Trelane, a Q. The other is a Q.

Ah, okay. Thanks. :)

Has the capital of Betazed ever been given a name?
Star Charts gives it the name Rixx, though I don't think it's ever been named in the novels or short stories.

All right. It got kind of confusing, because there's the Sacred Chalice, the Starfleet Captain, and the Betazoid Capital.

If I recall correctly, it's "The Sacred Chalice of Riix" in the first Mrs Troi script, the first time it's mentioned, and the Bolian Captain in "Conspiracy" was Rixx. Somewhere along the line, someone forgot and Rixx started getting used as the spelling for the Betazoid chalice, and then the capital city.

Similarly, ShiKahr became Shirkahr and Catulla became Catualla in the Okuda books, and then - for a while - the novelists were asked to conform with those books' spellings.

It hasn't yet, no.

Will Arafel Pagro ever return?
Anything's possible.

B'Liit, a Vulcan?
Is he number one?

What really happened on Elamin IX?
If Riker has his way, we'll never ever know.

What happens to Charvanek and Koval post-Nemesis?
Well, Koval was dying in "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges," so my guess is he's kicked it by now. As for Charvanek, there's a hint in Epiphany...

Okay.

Could you see him being the Vinick to Bacco's Bartlet?

Is he number one?

Koval was still around circa Epiphany, wasn't he? *hasn't read Epiphany in a while*

^ "Number one with a B'Litt...."

Okay, it's not that funny...................

Out of curiosity, I did some searching. I found this film and this documentary. Not sure which KRAD is referring to, if either; I've not seen either myself. EDIT: Since I see the doc isn't due out before next December, I'll assume the film is the best bet. EDIT 2: Further poking about (which I probably should have done before posting initially) finds that Wiktionary considers it an expression indicating a superlative. Although I've never heard that expression before, quite honestly.

When Casey Kasem (and others) used to do the Top 40 music countdown, a song that moved up the chart very quickly was described as #1 with a bullet. The printed charts had little bullet points next to all the fast moving songs.

I have finished it last week and, yup, he's still dying in Epiphany. :)

*innocently points at link to review in sig* ;)
