Nicole de Boer and Terry Farrell panel from London expo

Fencer

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Found a pod cast which covers Nicole and Terry's saturday panel at the London Expo. It's episode 26 and you can find it here:
http://www.dtrn.co.uk/The Sci Fi Guys.html

It starts at 1:58:40 and runs for about 15 minutes. There's not a lot of new information on it but it's still interesting.

Something about Nicole's remarks about not being sure about whether she'd feel up to playing a series lead....

Hmm...that might rule out a Star Trek: Aventine series.

Nah. I think Nikki would do fine as a lead--but that's just me. ;)

Also...it's kinda funny hearing how Nicole's boyfriend had auditioned for Bashir....

Forshadowing, maybe? :)

As for Nikky's suggestion that Ellen Page would be a good nuEzri: maybe.... I could see her as "teen Ezri"--perhaps in a prequel, showing her childhood, Academy days, or something.

Before she got the symbiont--sorry, but Nikky gave Ezri an enormous energy that I don't recall seeing Ellen demontrating--she seems a bit more reserved, from what I've seen of her....

Anyhow...please post part 2, when it comes out! I'll look forward to it! :techman:

I think she'd do fine as the lead in a series as well. I;m not sure why she thinks she wouldn't

Nothing more then Coincidence. It's pity that she's never said who her boyfriend at the time was! I'd love to know.

never seen her in anything so I can comment other then to observe that there was probably an element of nationalist pride in the choice as well.

I will, though looking at the up coming shows that might be in a few weeks.

Nicole's remarks about movie production, and how actors basically have more freedom to experiment, etc., because of less time constraints, cause me to wonder why we haven't seen her in that many movies?

Considering how excellent she was in DS9, I'd like to see her in a Trek film, then.

(BTW, considering how Angelina Jolie has dropped out of the cast of Atlas Shrugged, I personally think Nicole would make a GREAT Dagny Taggert, having read the book faithfully. But that's just me....)

Also awesome--how she talks about Michael Dorn asking her out on a date--over and over....

Interesting remarks about how the only way she would WANT to watch clips of herself was if she were onscreen with Johnny Depp. Ezri Dax having a crush on Jack Sparrow....

"That's interesting...." :p

Also, as far as I'm concerned, Nicole's not the only one sorry that Dr. Allison Porter didn't appear in Stargate Atlantis again. :(

I get the impression that she actually prefers the pace and opportunities of television work as opposed to movies. a lot of her movie roles are independents.

No, I would have liked to have seen her again.

Awesome thanks so much!

Terry Farrell thought "Juno" was a tv show lol.

i dont get why she says that she wouldn't do well. she would make a great Captain Ezri Dax. i guess the DS9 Ezri wouldn't really fit as a captain but if they let her evolve as in the books she would do fine. besides now that Nicole has "grown up" so to speak you can actually picture her as an authority figure. the short hair made her look, well not childish but like a teen. she looks more serious now. just check her IMDB profile against a ds9 pic.
EDIT: i cant bloody believe Nicole is 39...

and i cant miss the opportunity:

Damn, the hosts were annoying. The best part is when the host guy asks this stupid question, "when you got the part, did you think, 'oh crap, I'm on Star Trek' [like it's a bad thing]"? and Terry Farrell says "Fuck no! I had tears, I was like, oh my god, I'm Star Trek!". :guffaw: Terry rules. I was always a big fan of hers, and I like her even more now. :D

was it just me or does she have issues expressing herself. every second word she said was "uhm" for god's sake. i doubt either of them took this thing seriously. but it was still fun to listen. she want crazy when she said "I'm on star trek!"

BTW dont you just love Nicole's canadian accent? my favorite has always been Scottish but now i changed my mind.
i remember watching Christmas town the other day and thinking goddamn she's (Nicole) hot. then i checked her IMDB profile and though holy crap she could be my mother! how the hell does she do that?

Well to be fair, it's hard to be really articulate when you're put on the spot. It's like being interviewed for a job. Given the circumstances, I think they both conducted themselves very well.

As a businessman, my father has read many, many books about how to express yourself well when speaking to others since he's had to do so many meetings, negotiations, interviews, speeches, etc. and he STILL constantly says "uuhhh" every other word when he's talking to other businesspeople. It doesn't mean he can't express himself well. It's just the way he talks.

I don't notice much of an accent on Nicole, but maybe that's because I'm Canadian. :) If you think she's old enough to be your mom, you must be young. 40 isn't that old. She'd have to have had her kid when she was 14 to be my mom!

well, i guess you have a point but i still think its annoying. although that's because pretty much everyone around me talks that way. its kind of a tradition here in sweden.

yeah i know. 40 isnt that old but still no way you'd think she's 40. my godmother had her kid when she was 17 so i guess the numbers aren't that much off. besides being pregnant at 14 isnt that unusual actually. my classmate got pregnant at 14. that's really, really bad, at least here in sweden. swedish law is so fucked up (pun intended) that the father actually had to flee the country...

Terry was at a convention the wife and I attended in 1995 and she was F-bomb city. I see that hasn't changed, LOL! For the record, loved her as Jadzia. Also loved Nikki.

hey all

im soooo p off i missed it. Jadzia will always be my fave, but i dont mind Ezri, Nicole has a different way of playing Dax than Terry had. Ezri was more the "kid" but Jadzia was more confident with herself. btw, IF WISHES WERE HORSES episode from season one gotta be the the funnyest (sp?)episode from the whole series. Bashir having dreams about Jadzia and him were soooo funny.

Unfortunately, because of her foul language, there are a few conventions that will no longer invite Terry Farrell.
