Nick Meyers new interview. Working on a secret trek project

Lower your expextations or you'll be disappointed, I doubt it's something really huge, he wouldn't drop hints in that case because CBS would rip his head off.

Lowering expectations is probably a good idea. But I highly doubt CBS would be angry with him. A: Star Trek Discovery is probably almost at the hallway point of filming the first season. B: He's done two Trek movies for Paramount, CBS is well aware of that and wouldn't negate him from pursuing that avenue if that is the case. If it is the next movie its probably just slowly starting to gear up if we're looking at a 2018 or 2019 release.

I'm guessing he's involved in a novel or comic tie-in.
More than likely, that is the case. Another series is the most unrealistic as CBS wants to focus all their efforts on one series and making it great. It could be a Star Trek TV movie or possibly the next movie, but again, those are highly unlikely.

Fantasy:
Star Trek: Enterprise, full cast reunion for a Birth of the Federation/Romulan War mini-series.
Star Trek Beyond's 22nd Century sets, props and uniforms redressed for Archer's crew circa 2160.
Drexler's Enterprise refit onscreen, together with Franklin, Columbia, Intrepid, some Daedalus, warp deltas etc.
Nicholas Meyer directing all the phase cannon versus Rommie nuke action.

Reality:
4K retransfer and new Director's Cut of Star Trek VI.

But since it's my favourite film and first I saw in cinemas, that reality could be pretty good too.

Would be awesome but unlikely that its another series or movie. Would be awesome thought...but I highly doubt its anything to do with Enterprise. That ship has sailed and doubt we will be seeing that era again.

My guess: animation

Aside from a novel or graphics tie in novel, that is probably the most realistic possibility. A second TV series is out of the question. I know we are all hoping he's involved with the next movie, or that Paramount is deciding to leave the Kelvin universe. But Im sure JJ and crew would like to get one more movie in before their deal with Paramount is up.

The other reason animation makes sense is because we already know about the after-show, comic and novels.

Nick Meyer Hints at another Star Trek project

While Meyer did open up a bit to reveal the above, he also noted that he couldn’t really talk about Discovery, joking he “signed the Official Secrets Act.”

However, and entirely unprompted, Meyer dropped a bit of a bombshell…

Meyer: One thing that has nothing to do with Discovery is that I am working on another Star Trek project, but I can’t discuss that either.

I imagine that it's a video game. Paramount has the movie rights and this doesn't feel like that. Maybe even a theme park ride or a book.

I guess it's going to be a book, but maybe he has something to do with a Trek documentary or even a Trek movie.

Animation or a game sounds too good to be true. That's why I still say TUC special edition is most likely. although I can't think of a reason he wouldn't be allowed to talk about that.

Standard business practice. Non-disclosure covering even frankly mundane details. He probably can't discuss it, until CBS have a press conference and announce a release date. When he was doing interviews about TWOK DE Blu ray, months of work was all over and weeks away from being a product sitting on a shelf. It's the frustrating thing I used to find talking to guys working on Doctor Who DVDs from the Classic Series. As a fan you always have suggestions and a little bit of a wishlist for content, but by the time you hear about something, it's basically all buttoned up and at the disc authoring house. Okay, 9 out of 10 times the suggestions are utterly unrealistic... 1 out of 10 perhaps they could've done and didn't think of.

He has partnered with George Lucas to digitally replace Ricardo Montalban in TWOK with an actor who isn't wearing Freddie Mercury's bare-chested stage outfit, doesn't have an 80s-hairdo and doesn't overact the shit out of every scene. It is going to be glorious.

I feel the exact opposite about Into Darkness. Replace the Cumberbatch placeholder, with a CG Montalban and you definitely have the superior being.

I had the right one. The NX-01 shouldn't be bastardized into looking like a Connie. Just let it be its own thing.

Hahaha.
